Renie was called by our Lord Jesus Christ on May 20, 2016, at the young age of 60, after a courageous 5 year battle with Cancer. Irene was born in Brawley, CA, on April 26, 1956. She graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1975 and graduated from Imperial Valley College in 1977. She then attended San Diego State University. After College, Renie worked with preschool children. Renie met Juan Antonio"Tony" Nelmida at Brawley Union High School and married in 1978. Renie and Tony made San Diego County their home; they lived in the San Diego Communities of Normal Heights, City Heights, and North Park. Eventually, Renie and Tony bought a house in Lemon Grove, CA and made Lemon Grove their home. Renie enjoyed creating crafts and sewing. Her crafts were regularly given away as gifts. She would sew together curtains, clothes, uniforms and costumes for family and friends. Renie was a team mom and supported her children, J.A. and Sunshine, with all their sporting, dancing and cheering endeavors. Renie's greatest gift was her love for life and sharing that love with everyone she knew and met. Renie welcomed everyone with a sincere smile, was admired for her enormous heart, and for befriending everyone she met. Her laugh and an accompanying smile were her trademarks. No one could liven up a family get together like Renie. Renie's Christian faith was strong and unyielding. Even during her battle with Cancer, Renie remained faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ and never lost faith. When approached about her battle, Renie would simply quote The Lord's Prayer: "Thy Will be done, on Earth, as it is in Heaven." With her departure, Renie will be waiting in heaven for her husband, Juan Antonio "Tony"; son, Juan Antonio "J.A." and grandchildren, Dalin, Brooklynn Rae and Aly sa; daughter and son-in-law, Sunshine and Thom Mosher; parents Encarnacion and Irene (Chon and Tuti) Ramos; sister, Liz Gonzalez (Steve); brothers, Jr. (Cathy) and David (Doris) Ramos; Barbara Loera and Rachel Nelmida, who Renie saw as sisters. Renie will also be waiting in Heaven for several aunts & uncles, in-laws, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, and a countless number of friends. Service will be held at The Rock Church, East County, located at 808 Jackman St. El Cajon, CA. on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Family and friends will be able to say goodbye to our beloved Renie during a viewing from 8- 8:45 am. Funeral service will follow beginning at 8:45 am. Our beloved Renie will be laid to rest at Singing Hills Memorial Park, 2800 Dehesa Rd., El Cajon, CA. Family and friends are invited to return to The Rock Church for a Celebration of Life immediately following the burial.
