AGREDANO, MIGUEL  
Miguel Agredano, 91, of Imperial passed away Tuesday, July 21. He was born in Jalisco, Mexico, where he later married Maria Esther Agredano. Their 70th wedding anniversary was to be later this year on November 4th. He was preceded by his son Jorge. Miguel is survived by his wife, Maria Esther Agredano; sons, Raul, Jaivie, Miguel, Jaime, Salvador, Ceasar, and Hugo; daughters; Ofelia, Yolanda, Carolina, Gloria, and Irma. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 4 at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro from 6 to 9 p.m. Mass will be held Wednesday August 5 at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church in Imperial. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

GLUD, EDITH DOROTHEA  
Edith Glud passed away peacefully on July 23, 2015 at Las Valles Del Norte assisted living in Escondido, California where she resided since 2001. She had been a long time resident of Calexico since 1937. Edith was born in Daly City, California on March 9, 1914 to Danish immigrants Hans and Anna Larsen. In 1918 they moved to a farm in Petaluma, California where Hans raised chickens for egg production. Edith grew up on that farm, went to school in Petaluma then earned a nursing degree from Mt Zion Nursing School. In 1935 she met and married Paul Glud an immigrant from Denmark who worked at a local dairy. The dairy closed operations in 1937 and moved their cows to the owner's Calexico dairy, C and M Ranch. Paul and Edith moved to Calexico where Edith raised her four children at the ranch. They lived rural farming life at the ranch until the 1960's. Edith was active in the community. She volunteered at the Well Baby Clinic at Calexico's Neighborhood House. She was a Campfire Girl's leader and PTA President in Calexico. Edith served as President of the Calexico Women's Club as well as numerous club officer positions. She was named State Woman of the Year for the Women's Club and was also named Woman of the Year in Imperial Valley. She was active in the Calexico Women's Club until she moved into assisted living in Escondido in 2001. Edith's life was centered around her family making a good home life for her children and being a great grandmother. She and Paul were very close and loved the rural agriculture life. Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Paul on February 7, 2007, her parents, two sisters and 2 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia (James) Wait, Joan (Tom) Welsh; sons, Donald and Gary (Jane); 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held in San Diego at a later date.

PEREZ, ERNEST E. "ERNIE"  
Ernest Perez, 68, of Vista, CA passed away Tuesday, July 14. He was born May 8, 1947 in Calipatria and was married to Norma Castaneda on April 12, 1971 in Brawley. Visitation will be held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley on Friday, July 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Mass, officiated by Father Bernardo Lara, is scheduled for Saturday, August 1 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Brawley. Ernie will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery following Mass. He was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Rosie Perez; sister, Anita E. Zavala; and brother, Pete E. Perez. Ernie is survived by his wife, Norma C. Perez; son, Randy Perez; daughter, Emily Perez Wright; brother, Bill (Rebecca) Perez; mother-in-law, Maria Castaneda; sisters-in-law, Irene C. Mendez and Estella Castaneda; brothers-in-law, Rudy Zavala and Danny (Aida) Castaneda; grandchildren, Elijah, Mario, Junior, La Nae and Xavier; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

PETERSON, GEORGE WINDFIELD  
George Windfield Peterson passed away peacefully on July 27, 2015 in San Diego, California. He was born in Haskew, Woodward County Oklahoma, on August 2, 1920. He was the 6th child born to Jacob Henry Peterson and his second wife Zenoba Zerena Bailey. He had 14 brothers and sisters, all whom have preceded him in death. His father passed away when he was 3 years old and his mother passed away when he was 9. He was raised by his oldest brother, Everett, after his mother's passing. On April 15, 1944 he married Mandie Druecilla Frank in Mesa, Arizona who preceded him in death. On February 16, 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy at the Post Office in El Centro, California and was assigned to the San Diego, California Training Station. His tour of duty took him to San Francisco, Alaska, Pearl Harbor and the Hawaiian Island, and many points in between. George is survived by his 6 children, 11 grand-children, 25 great grand-children, daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws. He retired from Sears and was a member of El Centro First Assembly of God Church for many years. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

VILLA, LUCIA GUILIN  
Lucia Villa, 45, of Calexico passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 of natural causes at her home. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend. Also know as "YaYa", she loved working at Willie Moreno Jr. High School as a Science/Math Teacher. She worked there for 15 years. She attended U.C. Irvine where she received her Bachelor of Arts in 1996 and San Diego State University where she completed her Masters Degree in 2001. Her passion was being surrounded by children and enjoyed baby sitting her favorite nieces and nephews (Pasaraba's and Hurtados's) and her life long love for Winnie the Pooh. Luica was preceded in death by her father, Javier C. Villa; mother, Maria Luisa Guilin De Villa and sister, Enriqueta Villa CastaƱeda. She is survived by her sister, Maria Luisa Villa of Calexico, she also leaves behind an enormous number of family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 6 to 9 p.m. at Hem's Brothers and Mortuary in Calexico with Rosary being said at 7 p.m. Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Calexico and will be officiated by Father Miguel. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Calexico.

YBARRA, RACHEL  
Rachel Ybarra, 83, of Brawley passed away Sunday, July 19. She was born April 4, 1932 in Westmorland. Visitation will take place Thursday, August 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley with rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will commence at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 7 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley. Rachel will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery following Mass. She is survived by her son, Robert Ybarra Jr. of Brawley; Linda Fierro of La Mesa, CA, and Rachel Ruiz of Brawley. Rachel had nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grand- child.

ALLEN, SEAN CHRISTOPHER  
On July 12, 2015, Sean Christopher Allen left us to be with our Lord, after a long illness. Sean is survived by his mother, Sylvia A. Allen; brother, Joseph D. (Christina) Allen II; sister, Jennifer (Gerardo) Morales; nephews, Joseph D. Allen III, Jacob, Derek, Adam; niece, Zena; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who will miss him dearly. Sean loved to play golf, go to Disneyland and cook. He also loved coaching his little league team in Calexico, as well as his trips to the races with Calexico Baja Runners. Sean was also very proud of his Administration of Justice degree from the University of Phoenix. Sean is preceded in death by his father, Joseph D. Allen Sr. Services will be Thursday, July 30 at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico from 6 to 9 p.m. Mass will be held Friday, July 31 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

ARIAS, JOSE ARMENTA "EL COTA"  
Jose Arias, 54, of El Centro passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 of a short illness. He was married to Olga Armenta for 31 years. He worked for River Ranch for 20 years as a maintenance man. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Armenta and Agustina Arias. He is survived by his wife, Olga Armenta; children, Leslie Anais Armenta Olivas and Itzaileen Armenta; 3 grandchildren and 7 siblings. Celebration of Life will be Friday, July 31, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Christ Community Church 590 W. Orange Ave El Centro, CA 92243.

CORONA, GUADALUPE GOMEZ  
Guadalupe Corona, 84, of Calipatria passed away as the result of congestive heart failure on Monday, July 20 in San Diego. She was born March 17, 1931 in Gabriel Lopez, Zacatecas and was married to Antonio Ruvalcaba Corona in Yahuallca, Jalisco in 1951. Guadalupe was devoted to her family and her faith. She was a homemaker all her life who cared for her boys and instilled in them faith in God and kindness towards others. Guadalupe was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for 50 years and it was a joy for her to attend and hold prayer meetings in her home. Guadalupe's kind, gentle smile will be missed by all who truly knew her. A special thanks to our Mother's caregivers, especially Eva Lopez who our Mother truly loved. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Calipatria with rosary at 7 p.m. Mass, officiated by Father Alfredo Heyrosa, will commence at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 31, also at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Regino and Dolores Gomez; daughter, Maria de los Angeles; sister, Valentina Gonzalez; brother, Francisco Gonzalez; husband, Antonio Corona Sr.; son, Antonio Corona Jr.; and brother, Antonio Gonzalez. Guadalupe is survived by her sons, Raul (Mary), Manual (Karen), Salvador (Catalina), David (Cecilia), Ralph (Yadira), and Hector; sisters, Maria, Paula, Josephina, Juventina, and Amparo; brothers, Juan and Miguel; grandchildren, Junior (Amber), Andrea, Krystal, David Jr., Stephanie, Mary Angel, Carly, Cassandra, Travis, and Mia; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Jordan, and Davyen; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Gloria Felix, 68, of El Centro passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. She was born November 4, 1946 in Calexico and was married to Art Felix on May 25, 1968. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Christ Community Church and will be officiated by Pastor Darrell Maston. Gloria is survived by her husband, Art Felix of El Centro; daughters, Gabrielle Felix of El Centro and Jessica (Steven) Cole of Imperial.
