Aug. 28, 1922 - June 5,2014

Agustin B. Ramirez, 91, of Calexico passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2014 surrounded by his family.
Agustin was born August 28, 1922 in Michoacán, Mexico and moved to Imperial Valley in 1930. At an early age he became a carpentry apprentice that helped mold his career as a carpenter. He built many houses in the Imperial Valley through his life. He married Rosario Romero, who was his life long love of 63 years at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico on October 21, 1951.
Agustin is survived by his wife, Rosario; son, Agustin (Alicia) Ramirez Jr.; daughters, Sandra Burgos, Carmen (Eddie) Hernandez, Silda (Jimmy) Valdez all of El Centro and Anna Lisa (Lewis) Pacheco of Calexico; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Rafael Ramirez and Carmen Carpena of El Centro, Josefina Chavez, Maria Luisa Martinez and Rosa Genel all of Torrance, CA.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jose and Maria De Jesus Ramirez; siblings, Salvador, Manuel, David, Guillermo, Roberto and son-in-law, Manuel Burgos.
Agustin was a firm believer of keeping your word and commitment. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and hunting but his number one love was spending time with his family, especially on holidays and on camping trips to Ensenada.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico and will be officiated by Father Ed. Burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.
