Ray A. Duggins was born November 19, 1922 in Dillard, Oklahoma and passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 in Imperial Valley.
Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Roberta; two grandchildren, Donald Scott Duggins and Jami Michelle Tucker.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; children; Donna Rae (Dewey) James, Jim (Kathy) Duggins, Charlotte (Carl) Studer, Julie McCall, Jill (Russell) Roben; four step-daughters, Roberta, Vicki, Loretta and Juanita; Ray leaves 12 grandchildren, James, Tim, Shauna, Jeffry, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jodi, Kristi, Allen and Ray; 17 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
The services and viewing will be held at Faith Assembly Church in Imperial. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. Celebration service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
Ray served his country in WWII as a bombardier. After the war he returned home and founded Duggins Construction in 1961. He was involved in community and served on the Imperial School Board for many years. He was an avid fisherman. During his life he held many titles but the one he revered the most was "Big Papa". You are loved and will be missed, "Big Papa".
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Faith Assembly Church in Imperial.
