BOBBY NEIL HANEY

Bobby Neil Haney, 78, of Imperial, California passed away on November 8, 2012 of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Bobby was born in Roscoe, Texas on December 9, 1933 to Dew V. and Iva Clayton Haney. He graduated from Roscoe High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts from North Texas State University and a Master of Arts from Pepperdine University.
Bobby was employed as a teacher in Sweetwater, Texas, Heber and Brawley, California, and served as principal for Ben Hulse Elementary for 18 years. Bobby proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in South Korea during the Korean War.
He enjoyed playing golf, attending theatrical and musical events, and visiting with family and friends. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the California Retired Teachers Association.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 9p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Frye Chapel in Brawley. Memorial services will be held at 8:30a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Brawley. Burial will be held with military honors at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Riverview Cemetery.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Perry Neil Haney; and his sister, Gina V. McGill.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Sue, of 55 years; daughters, Malin Williams, Cynthia (David) Gunther, and Marilyn (Vance) McAlister; grandchildren, Kyle, Bryan, Robert, Zoe, Hannah, Nicolai, and Collin; great-grandsons, Kai and Trenton Williams. He is also survived by one niece, Jan McGill of Austin, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brawley First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1363, Brawley, CA 92227 or Imperial High School music scholarships.
