DONALD D. DROWN

Donald Drown peacefully passed away on March 26, 2012. Don was born in Elko, NV on February 19, 1919.
He graduated from Elko High School in 1936. He attended San Jose State and Utah State and upon graduating taught school in a one room rural school near Elko for 3 years. Don served in the Army Air Corp., an Air Force support group from 1942-1945 where he was stationed in North Africa and India. He enrolled in the University of Nevada as an Agriculture major in 1945. He graduated with a Masters in Animal Science in 1947 and was employed at the University of Nevada Ag Coop Extension for Elko for 3 years. He was then employed by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture for 9 years where he worked in NV, CA, and HA. He married Glenda Everett on July 24, 1954 in Riverside, CA. They moved to Brawley in 1959 where Don was employed by Bank of America for agricultural credit. He worked for Security Pacific National Bank and retired from Union Bank in 1984 as Vice President. While in Brawley, Don was active in the Brawley Lions Club, Del Rio Country Club, and Brawley Stockman's Club. He was the Cattle Call Chairman in 1968.
He was preceded in death by Glenda on Mar. 16, 2012.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Margaret Drown; daughter, D' Ann Luckey; grandchildren, Kristy and Blake Reed, Steph and Dave McNutt, Cameron Drown and Sarah Drown; great-grandsons, Chad and Wyatt Reed and Colton McNutt.
