Marcelina Ramos, 84, of Brawley passed away December 10, 2013.
She was born Marcelina was born and raised in Brawley, CA. She was a mother and grandmother to many. She was a caregiver to her mother and uncle. She loved to hear her music and dance. She also enjoyed going to the casinos and crocheting, she made a lot of beautiful blankets. She was also known as the "churrito and saladito" lady on J Street.
Evening service will be held Friday, December 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley with Pastor Ted Koroluk officiating.
Mass will commence at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 27 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rudy "Howdy" Ramos in 1972; sister, Alberta Sigala; mother, Maria Escalera Regalado in 1990; uncle, Jose Emilio Regalado; brother, Modesto Ibarra; and sister-in-law, Sarah Ibarra.
Marcelina is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ruben and Ruby Ramos, Freddy and Yolanda Ramos and Richard Ramos; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael Guzman; sisters, Beatrice Vasquez, Elvira Mesa, and Isidora Grijalva; 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchil- dren, all of Brawley.
