MIKE D. GINNIS

Feb. 22, 1922 - July 19, 2014

On February 22, 1922 in Ada, Oklahoma Mike D. Ginnis was born to Henry and Nellie Ginnis. He left this world to be with the Lord on July 19, 2014, 92 years later. He was the last surviving sibling of 24.
As a young man he entered into the Soil Conservation Corp. (CCC) in the Forestry Department, where he served 2 tours of duty. He then went to work on a cattle ranch and switched to working at the same companies meat packing plant in Ada, Oklahoma. He later went to work for the Railroad out of Tulsa, Oklahoma in their water service department, traveling around the lower parts of Oklahoma fixing their plumbing. He came to California with a friend in 1947 to the Marysville area where he worked at a saw mill. In 1949 his sister told him of a job with United States Gypsum which he applied for and started working there. He worked there for 43 years and retired in 1992. After moving to Westmorland he met and married Grace (Storrs) Ginnis in June of 1955. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. They had 3 children, son, Michael (Deborah) of Imperial, daughter, Anita Miller of Westmorland, daughter, Barbara (Oscar) Rios of Westmorland; grandsons, Cory Hemphill (Crystal) of Surprise, AZ, Michael Ginnis Sr. (Francine) of Westmorland, Joe Miller of Needles and Isak Ginnis of Imperial, numerous great-grandchil- dren and ex-daughter- in-law Donna Ginnis.
