"Uncle" Peter Thomas Famiglietti entered into eternal rest in the early hours of August 17th, following surgery for complications of his diabetes, surrounded by his family.
Uncle Peter was born February 26th, 1925 in the bedroom of his childhood home in Toronto, Canada. During his lifetime he was an avid gardener, cook and world traveler and shared that love with anyone that would listen. He was a consummate storyteller and will be greatly missed. Upon his retirement he began making El Centro and later Imperial his home for six months of each year, where he stayed with his sister until her death in 1997. He continued to come and spent his winters with his niece Patricia and her family. He spent many years as the room "dad" for Dane and Cara at Ben Hulse Elementary School and was famous for his goodies for bake sales and for being a chaperone on field trips. For close to 25 years anyone wishing to have a great dinner need only stop by on Thursday evening he always had plenty of pasta and meatballs to share.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrea and Antonia Famiglietti; his brothers, Ben, John and Pat; his sisters, Mary DiPinto and Carmella Damorjian and great-niece Mary Camardo.
