STEVE V. GARCIA

Visitation will take place this morning at 9 a.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley for Steve Garcia, age 85, who passed away Wednesday, October 17 following a lengthy illness. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, also in Brawley.
Steve was born December 26, 1926 in Brawley. He served in WWII with the United States Army in 1945, where he received a Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. Following his honorable discharge, he was employed with Gibson Construction for 25 years. In his 85 years of life, Steve was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who instilled faith, morals and values in his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Librada Garcia; sisters, Luisa, Angela, Frances; and brother, Juan.
Steve is survived by his wife, Rosalina Garcia of Brawley; sons, Steve Jr., Ruben, Frank, and Fernie all of Brawley, and Bobby of Salinas; daughters, Kindy, Patricia, Mary-Ann and Rosie, all of Brawley; sisters, Maggie, and Rosa and brother, Rudy all of Oxnard, CA.
