WILLIAM O. BRADY "BILL"

Feb. 16, 1935 - Dec. 23, 2012

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 9 at 10 a.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley for William Brady, 77, of Calipatria who passed away Sunday, December 23 following a long battle with cancer and Parkinson's.
William was born February 16, 1935 in Yarnaby, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1970 and served in the Vietnam War. William was stationed in Germany when he met and married his wife of 53 years, Ursula Brady. He moved to the Imperial Valley in 1970 where through the next couple of years, he worked for Alcon Fifield, Rio Bend, and Harris Feed yards. He went into the cattle and land business with his brother Ernest (B and B Cattle Company) and later partnered with Harlan White. During which time he also worked for Pinky's Trucking Company from 1974 to 1977. He then went to work for the Imperial Irrigation District from 1977 until he retired in 1992. Proving that retirement was too boring for him, he then started working for his good friend Charlie Slater.
William was a member of the Mounted Sheriff's Posse from 1991 to 1996. He loved fishing, riding horses, drinking coffee at Brownie's, and playing with his beloved grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Brady and Hershel Brady of Brawley, and Jim Brady of Texas; and sister, Marie Williams of Oklahoma.
William is survived by his wife, Ursula Brady of Calipatria; son, Jim Brady of Imperial; daughter, Monica Clark (James) of Imperial; granddaughters, Savannah and Addison Clark; sisters, Magalene McDonald and Helen Linney, both of Oklahoma.
