Obituary Condolences

Feb. 9, 1963 - Apr. 12, 2014

Ida lost her battle with cancer on the late evening of April 12, 2014 with her husband Jose Luis by her side.
Ida was raised in Calexico where she attended local schools, Rockwood Elementary, Olga, and CHS. She graduated CHS in 1982. She attended IVC where she completed her Gen. Ed. Ida was a loving mother, wife, friend, sister and aunt. She also had a creative side and spent time working on dry floral arrangements, especially during the holidays. She enjoyed weekend getaways visiting family in San Diego and taking her kids to Sea World. She looked forward to participating in the Relay for Life Cancer Walks. Unfortunately, she missed this year's walk due to her recent hospitalization. The family would like to thank the Imperial Valley community, friends, Class of 82, Relay for Life; American Cancer Society for all the contributions, love, support and prayers for our family during this difficult time.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Maria Tapia of Calexico and Father Denzil Liston of Brawley.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Luis Villasenor; daughter, Ida Vanessa Villasenor; son, Luis Angel Villasenor; mother, Loretta Liston all from Calexico and son, Lawrence Anthony Owens (Nicole) of Raleigh of North Carolina; sister, Maria Villasenor (Roberto) of El Cajon; nieces, Karla Villasenor of San Diego, Adriana Villasenor-Mendez (Francisco) of Irvine, Paula Villasenor- Martinez (Henry) of San Diego; nephew, Rob Villasenor (Sophia) of El Cajon; step-father, Santiago Garcia of Calexico; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
