Filemon Camillo, 75, of Brawley passed away May 29, 2014 in San Diego following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born October 8, 1938 in Brawley. Filemon served in the US Army (1959-1961) and an additional 4 years with the National Guard. After completing his service, he worked for Holly Sugar, retiring after 27 years.
Services for Filemon will take place Friday, June 6 with visitation from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley. Rosary will be said at 8 a.m. Mass will follow at St. Margaret Mary Church at 9 a.m. with Father Eddie Ruiz officiating. Filemon will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery immediately following Mass.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lourdes Camillo; parents, Frank and Carmen Camillo; and sister, Esther Camillo.
Filemon is survived by his sons, Steve and Phil Camillo, and Ulysses Logan; daughters, Mickey Camillo, and Esmeralda Ranches; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Raul (Belia) Camillo, Richard (Connie) Camillo, Tony (Maria) Camillo, Eddie (Inez) Camillo, and Albert (Margie) Camillo; sister, Josephine (Tito) Calsada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
