MARY SLATON
May 31, 1921 - May 2, 2012
Mary Slaton, 90, of Holtville passed away Wednesday, May 2. She coped with Parkinson's for over 25 years.
Mary was born May 31, 1921 in Woodlawn, MO. She taught school for over 40 years, retiring in 1983 from Meadows Union. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and sewing, but she especially enjoyed her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Marion; daughter, Sarah; sister, Elizabeth Green and brother, Poole Harrison.
Mary is survived by her sons, Francis (Gabriela) Slaton, Robert Slaton, and Stephen (Adela) Slaton; daughters, Rebecca Uldrick and Margaret (Dustin) Harmon; 8 grandchildren, Jeau Rogers, Jon Uldrick, Robert and Benjamin Slaton, Daniel and Estephanie Slaton, Richard and Jon Harmon; and 8 great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, May 5 at 2 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley with Pastor Richard Moore officiating. Mary will be laid to rest on Monday, May 7 at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro at 10 a.m.
