June 5, 1952 - Jan. 25, 2013

Ray Anthony Sesma, a resident of Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, passed away on January 25, 2013. He was 60 years old.
Ray was born in Calexico, California, where he resided and graduated from Imperial Valley College with his Associates degree. After serving in the United States Army, he moved to the Los Angeles area where he attended Cal State Long Beach and earned a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. In 1977, he married Carmen Obeso and moved to Oak Park, California, where they raised their three children. Carmen and Ray were married for 25 years. Ray's greatest pleasure in life was being a hands-on father and watching his children grow up. He coached them through many sports, helped with school projects and created and sewed all their school-program costumes.
Ray is survived by his father, Ramon Sesma, his three children: RayErik Obeso Sesma, Cassandra Obeso Fairchild and Steven Michael Sesma and his sisters and brother: Irene Esquer, Ruby Arballo, Norma Pantoja, Fernando Sesma and numerous family and friends.
Not only was he a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, he was also a very talented and creative artist. Ray had been the executive graphic designer for Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne and Boeing for 28 years, working on various NASA space shuttle projects. He was recognized within the company and the community for his talents in art and received many accolades.
Ray was well known by everyone for his sense of humor and until the very end, he had his family "in stitches". Those that came into contact with Ray became life-long friends because of his kindness, helpfulness and, most of all, his sense of humor.
Family and friends are invited to attend Ray's Memorial Mass, which will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, located at 124 E 5th Street, Calexico, California 92231 on February 9, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a burial service at the Mt. View Cemetery, located at 895 Scaroni Road, Calexico, California 92231 directly following the Mass. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Old Eucalyptus School House located at 796 West Evan Hewes Highway, El Centro, California 92243 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the following programs: Assistance in Healthcare, Inc., In Remembrance of Ray A. Sesma, P.O. Box 396, Zion, Illinois 60099 or Tahoe Forest Hospital Hospice Program, In Remembrance of Ray A. Sesma, P.O. Box 759, Truckee, California 96160
(530) 414-4862.
Ray will forever be in the hearts of his children, family, friends and the countless other lives he has touched over the years. Ray passed away knowing that he was loved with all our hearts. We will cherish his memory, along with his wit and charm, as he was always the life of the party.
