TEODORA MORA CARDENAS
Apr. 1, 1934 - Feb. 6, 2013
Teodora Cardenas, 78, of Heber passed away Wednesday, February 6.
She was born April 1, 1934 in Laguna de Beltranes, Sinaloa, Mexico. Our Mother immigrated to the United States at the young age of 17 and worked as a housekeeper. She later did farm labor and was last employed with Mike Yurosek packing shed, retiring after 19 years. Following retirement, she continued working for God and her beloved church, became a Catechist, Eucharistic Minister and received a benediction by Pope John Paul II for her services to God and her church.
Our Mother will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter and good sense of humor, the many lives of friends and family she touched with her straight forward advice, and service of charity she offered to anyone that needed it. Mom will live forever in our hearts and will be remembered by everyone. We will miss her presence on earth but are happy to know she was received in Heaven by all our dearly departed family and friends, God, His Son, the Holy Spirirt and our blessed Virgin Mary. Our Mother's love of God, family and nature was what gave her strength and fortitude for the amount of time she spent with us on earth.
Visitation for Teodora will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 14 at Sacred Heart Mission in Heber with rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass, officiated by Jose Alfredo Moreno, will commence at 10 a.m. Friday morning also at Sacred Heart Mission. Burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.
Teodora is survived by her children, Angelica Cardenas, Joe Cardenas, and MaryBell Cardenas; grandchildren, Moises Cardenas, Summer Ortiz, Lisa M. Cardenas, Erika Johnson, Aaron (Janet) Cardenas and Brandon Cardenas; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
