Nov. 29, 1938 - Apr. 26, 2013
Melvin Randolph went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2013. He was born in Phillipsburg, Kansas to Milton and Vione Randolph on November 29, 1938. He spent most of his childhood living in Belfair, Washington before his family moved to Brawley in 1951. Mel attended Brawley schools including Brawley High School. He later attended an Air Conditioning Electrical trade school in Salinas, CA. In 1973, Mel married Dianna Remsburg, to whom he was married almost 40 years.
Air conditioning was the most successful occupation for Mel. He worked for various A/C businesses in El Centro before establishing his own business in 1972, which he operated for 25 years. Throughout the years, people of Imperial Valley appreciated his knowledge and service in the air conditioning field. His genuine love for people and honesty in business could not be surpassed. If someone was unable to pay for A/C services, there would be no charge. His final employement was with the Imperial County as A/C technician, where he retired in 2008.
During his free time, he enjoyed football and NASCAR racing. In his 30's-40's, he did scuba diving and motorcycle riding. Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies.
Almost 3 years ago, Mel rededicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and began attending Christ Community Church. In the last days before his passing, he was sorrounded by family and loved ones.
Mel was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Vione Randolph Mortimer; his stepfather Bill Mortimer; his son Arthur Randolph (died at birth); his sister Verna Williams, and his brothers-in-law Delbert Williams and Wally Locher.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Dianna Randolph; his daughters Sherry Heim (Michael), Katherine Lobstein (Stephan); his sons Eric "Rooster" and Ryan Randolph; his grandchildren David and Daniel James Heim, Richard McElvany (Beatriz), Todd McCann (Trixie), Breeauna and Riley Randolph, great-grand- daughters Abaigael McElvany and Sophia McCann; his sister Mona Locher; like a son, Clenard "Cowboy" Collins (Fran); and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Many loved and knew him as their Dad and PaPa. A man who was dearly loved by all will be missed.
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Christ Community Church at 572 W. Orange Ave. in El Centro. The service will be officiated by Pastor Walter Colace.
The family would like to thank all extended family and friends for prayers and support and the following doctors for their service: Dr. George Maloof, Dr. Hussein El-Newihi, Dr. Kai Zu, Dr. Shaw Eslamia, Dr. Michael Romero, Dr. Kelly DeWitt.
