Conrad Walter Jutras Jr., 58, of El Centro passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
Conrad was born on September 18, 1954 in Long Beach, CA. He married Joanne Jutras on January 22, 1977 in El Centro, CA. Conrad Walter Jutras Jr, "Juice" served in the United States Navy for 24 years. He was an Aircraft Jet Mechanic with a secondary job as a Naval Aircrewman, flying in the Douglass EA-3B Sky Warrior. He entered the Navy during the Vietnam war, and served in the Iran/Iraq conflict, Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and the Libya Crisis. His duty stations included, El Centro, CA, Point Magu, CA, Key West, FL, Guam, and Rota, Spain. Upon his retirement from the Navy, Conrad moved to El Centro, where he lived for 15 years. He worked a NAF El Centro's HAZMAT department, then joined the Imperial Irrigation District's HAZMAT Unit in 2006 as a HAZMAT technician. As a HAZMAT Technician, he loved working outdoors and meeting the great people that he worked with. He loved sharing stories, trading knowledge and being humorous around the office.
His greatest accomplishment are his children, Conrad and Ariel, and a special niece Stephanie. He enjoyed traveling, remodeling his home, tending to his yard, rooting for the Oakland Raiders, and watching NASCAR. He will be remembered for being a professional prankster, who enjoyed a good laugh. He was passionate in supporting the arts and believed in always following your dreams. He enjoyed different types of music, mainly tunes from Jimmy Buffet and Willie Nelson.
He is proceded in death by his father, Walter C. Jutras; mother, Barbara Stoddard; and father-in-law, Earl Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Jutras of El Centro, CA; son, Conrad Walter Jutras III of Lexinginton Park, MD serving in the U.S. Navy; daughter Ariel Rosalina Jutras of Studio City, CA; niece, Stephanie Johnson of San Jose, CA; sisters, Toni Wench of Tuscon, AZ, Barbara (Bill) Arsenault of Moreno Valley, CA, Patty Puryear of Running Springs, CA, Cindy (Randy) Hrdlicka of Moreno Valley, CA; mother-in-law, Lucille Thompson of El Centro, CA; sisters-in-law, Susie (Mike) Fahey of San Diego, CA, Darlene (Doug) Dove of El Centro, CA, Elizabeth Mordah of San Diego, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. officiated by Father Edward Horning, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at 11 am. at Evergreen Cemetery.
