Milan - William Lawrence "Bill" Jones, died at his home Sunday, March 23, 2014. He was a man of many gifts. He entertained generations of children and adults with his impersonations of Donald Duck. He created jewelry, crafted furniture, golfed, fished, gardened, researched genealogy, played piano, cooked, raised chickens and was a realtor and a pilot. He acted in several plays at Trenton's Nite Lite Theater.

Bill served in the Navy during World War II, attended Harvard University and graduated from Ole Miss School of Pharmacy. He was the co-founder of the Southgate Pharmacy in Milan. He served several terms on the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy. He served several terms as Alderman of 2nd Ward in Milan.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nell Marie Fisher Jones; his parents, Lawrence and Ruth Jones; three brothers, Ernest, Thomas and James Robert "Jim Bob"; sister, Frances Jones Bereman.

He is survived by his son, Billy Jones; daughters, Dianne (Mike) Smith and Jenny (Larry) Beeman. He leaves five grandchildren, Molly (Joe) Terry, Stacy (Jeremy) Hensley, Tony Beeman, Matthew (Brandi) Qualls and John (Gail) Beeman. He leaves six great grandchildren, Chase Terry, Emily (Andrew) Feazell, Grant and Gray Hensley, Spencer and Weston Qualls. Bill was thrilled to welcome his great great-grandson, Parker Feazell seven months ago.

Bill is also survived by two sisters, Virginia DeShazo and Mary Evelyn Hendren; sisters-in-law, Alice Isaac and Louise Blankenship; brothers-in-law, Ken (Susan) Fisher, David (Annette) Fisher, Paul (Beverly) Fisher, Richard (Judy) Fisher, Ronald (Lenyr) Fisher and Bobby (Dorothy) Fisher; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church in Milan on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.
