Alvin Bruce Wilson
Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Bruce Wilson, age 69, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, with Bro. Nick Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama.
He was born in Madison County, TN, the son of the late Walter Barbee Wilson and Virgie Brawner Wilson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired as a clerk with the Norfolk Southern Railroad after thirty five years of service. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Avalon Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, AL. He spent most of his life in Pinson and Jackson, TN. He was an avid country music musician and a founding member of the Country Sunshine Band. He loved music, his family and his friends and was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Wilson and a sister, Miriam Hovis.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Grisham Wilson of Muscle Shoals, AL, whom he married on August 23, 1991; his sons, Todd Wilson and wife Alicia, and Bruce Bishop and wife Bethany, all of Jackson; his daughter, Kim Wilson Frye and husband Brad of Pinson; his brother, Milton Wilson and wife Peggy of Pinson; four grandchildren and a large extended family of step-children, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
