Coralie Weiss Obituary

Coralie S. Weiss age 92 died May 4 2006 at Methodist Extended Care Hospital in Memphis Tennessee after a long illness. She lived at Wesley Meadows Retirement Community in Hernando Mississippi before she was hospitalized. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Thomas Quentin Weiss. Mrs. Weiss was born and reared in Chicago IL attended the University of Illinois and was a 75 year member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She and her husband met married and moved south where she became a "true southern lady wife and mother." Her passions were fishing gardening sewing craft and needlework and cooking. Each of her grandchildren nieces and nephews and many friends treasure afghans she crocheted or knitted for them. She leaves her daughter Betty Weiss Stoker and her husband Ira Stoker of Hernando; two grandchildren Randolph Steele Smith and his wife Caryn of Athens GA and Leanne Smith of Mandeville LA; two great-grandsons Quentin Henry Smith and Evan Thomas Smith of Athens; a brother-in-law David Weiss and his wife Joanne of Hot Springs AR; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews who were as close as children to her. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to Mississippi Methodist Senior Services Foundation P.O. Box 1567 Tupelo MS 38802. Visitation will be 1:30 Sunday May 7 2006 at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home followed by graveside services at 3 PM at Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson TN. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home 731-424-2424
