Dylan Scott Banks Kirk Obituary
Dylan Scott Banks Kirk

07/10/1993 - 03/11/2012

Funeral services for Dylan Kirk will be held Wednesday, March 14th at 2 p.m., at the Fellowship Bible Church, with Pastors Eugene Brandt and Randy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Dylan was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the age of eighteen.

His love of the Lord and his family was exemplified in every day of his life. He was a treasure as a child, and the relationship he had with his parents and family could not be duplicated.

Dylan's love of baseball began at an early age when his first word was "ball"! From that day forward baseball was his passion. Dylan was a proud member of the first TCA baseball team to qualify for the state tournament. He was an All-District player and was selected to the West Tennessee All-Star squad that played an exhibition at Pringle's Park. Dylan slugged 10 homeruns his senior season and proudly served Christ as a member of the Lions. Dylan was a member of three different Madison County Dixie youth baseball teams which qualified for the state tournament. As a twelve year old, Dylan broke his arm during the baseball season and four weeks later, cleared to play with a cast on his arm, he achieved one of his proudest moments by promptly hitting a walk-off grand slam.

Dylan was an active member of the Fellowship Student Ministries "FSM" at Fellowship Bible Church of Jackson. During High School he was active in his school's Young Life Group. Dylan was a proud 2011 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy and was proud to be a freshman at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, where he was majoring in pre-law.

In the 2011 TCA yearbook, Dylan listed his favorite Bible verse as: Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way. You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies. You have welcomed me as your guest; blessings overflow! Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home. Psalms 23 4:6.

Dylan is survived by his parents, Scott and Cindy Kirk, and his two loving brothers, Holden and Grayson Kirk; grandparents, Mr. Hobert Banks (Glenda) of Jackson, Cecil and Tharon Kirk of Jackson, Mildred Ballinger of San Francisco, CA; aunt, Michelle Kirk of San Francisco, CA; aunt and uncle, Dietrich and Keely Kirk of Brentwood, TN; uncle, Andrew Kirk of Whitehouse, TN and cousins, Carlisle and Hallie Mae Kirk of Brentwood, TN.

He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Annie Banks "Mimi" of Jackson, TN.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, March 13th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Fellowship Bible Church, and will resume on Wednesday, March 14th from noon to the service time of 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, you may choose to donate in Dylan's honor to Trinity Christian Academy's baseball building fund.
