Robert W. Sadler
Mr. Robert W. Sadler, age 78 of Jackson, passed away on February 4, 2014 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN.
Graveside services for Robert will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11 a.m., at Ebenezer Cemetery in South Jackson, with Rev. Sharon Karamoko officiating. Military honors will be observed.
Robert grew up in Bemis, TN. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Army. He retired in 1974 at the rank of Sargeant First Class. During his 20 year active duty career, he served as part of the Army Security Agency, completed one tour in Vietnam and spent several years stationed in Germany. While there, he met and married Marga Sadler. They were together 39 years before she preceded him in death. In 1997, he found love again and married Louise Sadler. They enjoyed dancing and traveling together until his health started to decline in the last few years. He loved telling stories of his life, spending time walking his dogs and playing with his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Louise Sadler; children, Rebecca B. Jarry (Michael) of Hudson, NH, Jerry L. Sadler (Vicky) of Farview, TN, Kurt Sadler (Maureen) of Bolivar, TN, Renate S. Brown (Steve) of Medon, TN, Loreen S. Griffis (Richard) of Bemis, TN; siblings, Jerry Ann Cupples and Mickey Sadler of Montezuma, TN; ten granchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marga B. Sadler and brother, Richard E. Sadler.
