Agnes Cooper Leathers
Agnes Cooper Leathers, age 84, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Regency Retirement Village in Jackson, TN.
She was born November 4, 1929 in Montezuma, TN, the daughter of the late Otho Cooper and Faye Dyer Cooper. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and avid gardener. She was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School, the nursery, Golden Agers, WMU, GROW Outreach and the Mary Martha Cooking Group.
She is survived by four daughters, Lisa White and husband Joe, Carol Dyer and husband Jimmy, Ava Johnsey and husband John, Sharon Butler and husband Scott; one sister Joyce Smith and husband Wise; two brothers, Max Cooper and wife Ina Lee, Anthony Cooper and wife Betty; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Leathers; one brother, James Cooper; one sister, Loyce Cooper.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Ron Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, February 17, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to West Jackson Baptist Church, "Theo and Agnes Leathers Sunday School Fund" or Debt Retirement Fund, 580 Oil Well Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
