Betty Lou Hollin Reed, age 82, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Jackson, TN.
She was an avid fan of the Lady Vols. She was very active and loving in the ministry, and supportive of her husband George. She was a wonderful family woman and always wanted to meet the needs of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Reverend George Reed of Lexington; 3 brothers, Earlene "Jack" Hollin of Texas City, TX, Bill W. Hollin (Joyce) of Dayton, TN and Tommy Hollin (Karen) of Texarkana, AR; 1 sister, Jo Ann Garlanger of South Bend, IN; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lonzo and Bertha Mae Bishop Hollin; 3 brothers, Carl Hollin, Roy Hollin and Neal Hollin; and 2 sisters, Irene Edgin and Dorothy Hollin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 23rd at 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington, with burial to follow in Milledgeville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., at Reed's Chapel, and on Sunday from 12 p.m. till service at the First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, P. O. Box 447, Jackson, TN 38302.
