Cyrus Perry Ellis

Mr. Cyrus Perry Ellis, age 88 of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday at Jackson General Hospital.

Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Highland Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow the services.

Mr. Ellis, known as "C.P.," was born on April 28, 1925 in Jackson, TN to the late James Albert and Annie Elizabeth Hall Ellis. He served his country in WWII in the Navy serving on the USS New Orleans in the Pacific Ocean. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and recently went to Atlanta to see them play.

He is survived by three children, Carolyn Kelly (David) of Jackson, Steve Ellis (Debbie) of Jackson, and Tim Ellis (Lesia) of Paris, TN; four grandchildren, Mark Only (Kristina), Amy Only, Jennifer Royal (Jamie), Stephen Ellis (Julianne), and Meagan Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Anna Only.

Friends may gather at the cemetery beginning at 10:30 a.m. for the service.
