Mrs. Bond was born April 17, 1921 in Denmark, Tennessee to Mr. John Smith and Mrs. Tiller Transou Smith.
She departed this life on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
She was baptized at an early age and was a member of St. John #2 Missionary Baptist Church. She attended school in Madison County, TN and St. Louis, MO.
Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her husband, Asberry "Boygie" Bond; mother and father; two sisters, Willene Witherspoon and Susie "Dolly Mae" Perry; four brothers, Johnny James Smith, Jessie James Smith, Lloyd Patrick and Floyd Patrick; and two sons, Grady and Dennis Bond.
Rubye Mae Smith was united in holy matrimony to A.B. "Boygie" Bond on December 29, 1938. Rubye and Asberry believed in and instilled in their children a strong work ethic, the importance of education, and the need to be self-sufficient. They also believed in and taught them the importance of helping others and to have pride in who they are. Rubye was a strong woman who loved to quilt. All of her children are in possession of at least one beautiful masterpiece. She also loved to bake, to which all of her children, family and friends can attest. What will the holidays be like without her cakes, cookies or fried pies!

She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
