Jimmy "Jim" Allen Hardee

Jim Hardee, age 72, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 1 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Jon Reeves officiating.

Jim was born in Madison County to the late Ollie and Rosella Hardee, he was a lifelong carpet installer who loved his job, bass fishing, and life in general. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Mr. Hardee was a proud member and co-founder of Sadie Lou's bass club.

Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Arnold Shumate.

Mr. Hardee is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sherry Shumate Hardee; 1 daughter, Amy (Chuck) McLemore of Jackson; 1 son, Terry (Kari) Hardee of Parsons; mother-in-law, Gladys Shumate Skinner; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service time at 1 p.m., in the South Chapel.

Pallbearers to serve are Jason Moore, Dallas Shumate, Chris Vales, Donnie Vales, Matt Moore and Cory Shumate. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Moore and Todd Englet.
