Robert Wesley McRae

Graveside services for Mr. Robert Wesley McRae, age 85, will be at 12 Noon Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Ridgecrest Cemetery, with Pastor Paul Riddle officiating. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McRae died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Jackson, TN to the late William Grafton McRae and Ruby Long McRae. Mr. McRae was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from Jackson Energy Authority where he was the Meter Reader, and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Dorris McRae; a son, Don Wesley McRae; his brothers, Finus Eason McRae, Johnny Stewart McRae, Gere Walton McRae and Gary Lee McRae, and a sister, Alice Elizabeth McRae.

Surviving are a son, Eddie Wayne McRae of Jackson; a brother, William Grafton "Buster" McRae, Jr. of Lexington; a sister, Myra McRae Collins and husband Freddy of Jackson; his grandchildren, Bryan Wesley McRae of Memphis and Quinn Austin McRae of Jackson, and his great-grandchildren, Anna and Maegan McRae, both of Memphis.

Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Eddie,
so sorry to hear about Robert's passing. you know we all loved him. many good times we had with all our parents. Time flies. Seems like it was yesterday.

Eddie, I'm sorry about your dad. I knew him when I was a kid and teenager. I know you don't remember me but GOD be with you. I'm 70 yrs old and it didn't realize he and I were that close to the same age. You were quite a bit younger than me. We spent a lot of time together.
