James M. Brittingham
James M. Brittingham, age 67 of Jackson, passed away at his home on May 4, 2014 after an extended battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Known as "Britt" to his friends, he was born on August 17, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Britt served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Wilmington College and worked as a manufacturing manager for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Helen Brittingham, and his daughter-in-law, Shawnna Brittingham.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Eileen; his daughter, Renee (Odie); his sons, Michael, Trevor and Andrew (Laura); and his grandchildren, Sean, Quinn, Dakota, Aleigh, Samantha, Katie and Izzy.
Prior to his death, Britt made arrangements to have his body donated to medical research for the advancement of a cure. The family will hold a Memorial service on June 14th.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (230 E. Ohio St., Ste. 304, Chicago, IL 60611).
