Donald L. Dorsey, 96
Donald L. Dorsey, 96, of Frankfort, Ind., died June 2, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis, IN. Born May 21, 1918 in Clinton County to the late Lore W. & Edith B. (Beisel) Dorsey. He married Bonnie J. Chezem on May 28, 1939 in Lebanon and she passed on July 26, 2003. Mr. Dorsey was a 1936 graduate of Frankfort High School and was a lifelong Frankfort resident. He was an assistant postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service, working for 37 years before retiring in 1979. He was a member and elder of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, member and past president of the N.A.R.F.E., member of Frankfort Lions Club since 1960, life member of Elks, member of Moose, T.P.A. and the former Frankfort Country Club. Mr. Dorsey was an avid golfer, having 3 holes-in-one.
He is survived by a son, Neal (Wife Lorrie) Dorsey of Frankfort, granddaughter: Sarah (Husband Tony) (Dorsey) Roth of Lafayette; brother, Bruce (Wife Florence) Dorsey of rural Frankfort; 2 sisters, Kathleen (Dorsey) Michael of rural Frankfort; Eileen (Dorsey) Stewart of rural Frankfort. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday with visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kilmore Cemetery. Kelly Kurth will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church Care Ministries. Online condolences may be made at goodwinfuneralhome.com.
