Elizabeth J. Hackerd, 89
Elizabeth J. "Betty" Hackerd, 89, of Lafayette, passed away at 5:00 PM Sunday, May 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East.
Betty was born December 2, 1923, in Rossville, to the late Cecil and Elva Butz Wallace.
She graduated from Rossville High School in 1941.
On March 6, 1943 she married James P. Hackerd in Dayton. He died November 3, 2010.
Betty was a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching TV, sports, and music.
Surviving is a son Mark Hackerd (wife Celeste) and a daughter Karen Mosson both of Lafayette; three grandchildren - Terra Kline (husband Kyle), Alexis Williams (husband Lester) and Dillion Hackerd along with six great grandchildren, Alyse, Keegan, Kodi, Lester, Layla and Audrina.
Betty was preceded in death by a son James, a brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with funeral services at 10:00 am Friday, May 17, 2013 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Rev. John Everett officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery.
