Barrick, Lewis D.  
Lewis D. Barrick Lewis D. Barrick, 94, of Pyrmont, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born February 2, 1920, in Cutler, the son of Russell and Cora Heddrick Barrick. On November 21, 1942, he married Dorothy S. Myers; she survives. Lewis grew up in the Buck Creek area before moving to rural Pyrmont in 1986. Lewis served in the United States Army during World War II where he was stationed in the South Pacific including Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. He farmed most of his life in the Buck Creek area. Lewis belonged to the Pyrmont Church of the Brethren where he held several church offices including Life Time Deacon of the church. With his wife, Lewis attended North Fork Old German Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Thomas Dean (Karen) Barrick of Pyrmont, and Jay Lynn (Debra) Barrick of Buck Creek; two granddaughters, Mandy (Chuck) Murray and Darcy (Shawn) Keegan; two stepgranddaughters, Stephanie (Kirk) Saylor and Jennifer (Nic) Myers; four great-grandchildren, Daymia, Jayden, Elijah, and Adah; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Breanna, Payten, Griffey, Kelton, Quynten, Lukas, Matthew, and Miresa. In addition to his parents, Lewis is preceded in death by his brother, Russell Barrick. Visitation for Lewis will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the funeral home with ministers John Hess and Melvin Mohler officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Old German Baptist Cemetery. Memorials in Lewis' name may be made to Milner Healthcare Activity Department or Honor Flight Network. Boes, Dorothy R. (Dotty)  
Dorothy R. (Dotty) Boes, 84 Dorothy R. (Dotty) Boes, 84, of West Lafayette, passed away at 12:40 pm Saturday December 20th at Creasy Springs Health Campus. She was born October 28, 1929 to the Late Alta Elming Julian (Lee Defreese) and George E. Julian. She attended Jackson High School, while living with her Aunt Elma and uncle William "Will" Wellman, where she was a cheerleader all four years. After graduation, she attended beauty school in Frankfort, IN and worked briefly before marrying Ralph H. Boes on February 22,1949. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in 2015. Ralph and Dorothy had two children, Carla J. Boes Turner of West Lafayette, and Randy P. Boes (wife Laura) of Greenville, SC. The couple were farmers most of their lives, living in Battle Ground and then moving to Montmorenci where they stayed for 17 yrs before moving to Ralph's family farm in 1968. Dorothy was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Dorothy loved animals, gardening, sewing, canning and cooking for the family. Many trips to Lake Freeman were enjoyed by the family, where everyone expected Dorothy's famous fried chicken and macaroni salad. Dorothy loved traveling with the family, and after retirement with Ralph, both by car and on their motorcycles to 48 states. They traveled the country and made many friends with the Gold Wing Club, and enjoyed the Harley Davidson groups too. Traveling to their winter home in Leesburg, FL was always fun where they could play golf and ride with friends. Dorothy played in the Lady's Golf League at Edwood Glen Golf Course for many years and established many cherished friendships. Dorothy enjoyed a close relathionship with her brothers and sisters. Donna M. Gullion (Charles), the late Robert E. Julian (Brenda), Max E. Julian (Barbara), and Patty Julian South, all of Lafayette, and her many nieces and nephews. She really enjoyed the 5 grandchildren, Roth Boes (Annie) of Clarksville, TN; Tara Lynn Rusch (Justin) of Duluth, GA; Nichole L Hoffman (Ben) of West Lafayette, IN; Wesley A Freeland of West Lafayette, IN; and Kelsi L Turner (Brandon Clugh) of Lafayette, IN. She was lucky to have met 7 great-grandchildren, Scarlet Rusch age 4 and Natalie Rusch age2; Alden Kay age 10, Cordelia age 4, Ainsley age 2, and Oliver age 3 months Hoffman; and Kaylin Clugh age 2. Services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Chapel of Faith at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, where the family will receive friends from noon until time of service. Entombment will follow services. Dorothy was very giving , so any contributions to your favorite charity in her name would be appreciated.

Bulington, Ruth R. (Hughes)  
Ruth R. (Hughes) Bulington, 85 Independence - Ruth R. (Hughes) Bulington, 85, Independence, passed away at the Williamsport Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Williamsport, on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 12:40 p.m. Ruth was born in Monon, Indiana, on August 9, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Preston and Elsie Irene (Murphy) Hughes. She was raised in Monon, graduating from Monon High School in 1947. She later lived in Buck Creek and has resided in Independence since 1964. Ruth was a stay-at-home-mom, raising her family. She later worked at the Radio Material Corp. in Attica. She was a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church in Independence. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading and raising flowers. On October 22, 1949, Ruth married Robert Stanley Bulington in Monon. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2003. She leaves behind her seven children, Robert D. (Jessie) Bulington, Attica; Kevin L. Bulington, Attica; Edward B. (Yvette) Bulington, Independence; Carol R. (David) Morris, West Point; Karen M. (companion-Ray Whitson) Mitchell, Borden, IN; Luana L. Watkins, Winthrop, IN; and Kathy J. Biddle, Lafayette; a daughter-in-law, Beth Bulington, Nashville, GA; four brothers, James (Mary) Hughes, Wolcott, IN; Donald (Violet) Hughes, Idaville, IN; R. Ray (Jan) Hughes, Warsaw, IN; Dale (Diane) Hughes, Monon, IN; two sisters, Joyce Trueblood, Slinger, WI and Carita (Jack) List, Brookston, IN; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, G. Steven Bulington; a brother, Rex Hughes and two sisters, Linda Denton and Naomi June Hughes. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, Dec. 26th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 27th, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Independence, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverview United Methodist Church. Geneva Rose Burton Geneva Rose Burton, 88, of Boswell, died, Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was born, December 28, 1925, in Tremble, KY, to the late Tolar & Myrtle (Burton) Prather. She was a member of the Boswell Free Methodist Church. She had worked as a waitress & cook for several years. She loved spending time with her family & friends & baking pies & angel food cakes. She is survived by 4 Daughters, Barbara (Tom) Happ, Betty (Clyde) Gibson, Janice (D.R.) Miles, Kathy (Tom) Hasser, 2 Sons, Darrell (Betty) Burton & Donald Burton, Daughter-in-Law, Amber Burton, 17 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren& a Sister, Mae Burton, Louisville, KY. She is preceded in death by a Son, Danny Burton, Daughter-in-Law, Brenda Burton, 5 Brothers, Hugh, Raymond, Herman, Harold & Wendall Prather & 2 Sisters, Gertie Baker & Mary Light. Visitation will be Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 11 AM until the time of the services at 1 PM, at the Boswell Free Methodist Church, with Gary Sims officiating.
