Losh, Laura "Joan"
Laura J. Losh Laura "Joan" Losh, 84 years old, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday morning, February 25th, 2015. Her strong will to live, unwavering trust in the Lord, desire to always bring him glory, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through four years of battling through stroke recovery. Joan was born on February 12, 1931 in Duggar, IN, the daughter of the late Abraham and Marie Goodman. Following her graduation from high school, she spent 15 years working at Eli Lilly Laboratories. Through Lilly, she met her life-long love Michael G. "Mike" Losh. They were married in November of 1955, and spent the last almost 60 years together raising their family and creating a strong family legacy. He survives. Although she was known and loved for many things, the one dearest to her family was the legacy of faith that she established. Her desire was to serve Jesus and that others would come to know and love him as well. Joan found her greatest joys in spending time with her children and grandchildren, serving at Crestview Church, attending Bible Study and quilting with her lifelong friends. She also loved wintering in Sebring, FL with the love of her life, and traveling to every state except Hawaii and Alaska. She was a member of Crestview Community Church where she spent many years serving as the Sunday School secretary, in the Women's Missionary Society, and on local church board. She served in Kentucky on a mission trip and was also a joyful, committed member of the Ladies Bible Study and Quilting Club. Surviving with her husband, are many other relatives who loved her dearly: A daughter, Robin Marie Clark (Husband: Larry) of rural Lafayette; a son, Mark Edward Losh of Indianapolis; brother, Hubert Goodman (wife: Jean) of Greenwood, IN; sister, Janice Sue Spilker (husband: Ralph) of Sebring, FL; brother, Danny Joe Butler (wife: Eileen) of Greenwood, IN; 3 grandchildren: Sarah (Clark) Livengood (Husband: Phil) of West Melbourne, FL, Rachael (Clark) Allison (Husband: Brad) of Taylor, TX, and Luke Clark of Fishers, IN; 6 great-grandchildren with one additional expected blessing: Emily Kate, Anna Faith, Ella Grace & Ava Claire Livengood of West Melbourne, FL, Noah Bradley, Abigail Marie, & Baby May 2015 of Taylor, TX. Joan was preceded in death by four beloved siblings, Mary Goodman, Jack Goodman, Betty Eaton, and Ruth Freeman. 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastors Tom Redman and Jodi Charlton officiating. Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care. Share memories and condolences online at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com
