Bartley, Lora Lee  
Lora L. Bartley Lora Lee (Lohrman) Bartley, 83, of Lafayette, passed away at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at The Springs at Lafayette. Born August 5, 1932 in Colburn, IN, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Sylvia (Hendrickson) Lohrman. She married the late Robert E. Bartley, Sr. on August 14, 1959. Lora was a supervisor for General Telephone Company retiring in 1991 after 40 years of service. She enjoyed babysitting, camping and reading. Surviving are her three children; Steven Bartley of Poplar Bluff, MO, Robert E. Bartley, Jr. of Lowell, IN, Robin (Jeff) Brown of Lafayette, IN; two step-daughters, Debbie Toth of Lafayette, IN and Linda (Jack) Perry of Crawfordsville, IN; one brother, Glenn (Patricia) Lohrman of Monticello, IN, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and all of the kids she has babysat for over the past 20 years. Preceding her in death with her parents and husband are her two sisters, Mildred Wobio and Rosie Fugua, and granddaughter, Stacey Brown. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of funeral service at 11 am, Friday, July 22, 2016 at Hippensteel Funeral Home with Celebrant Amanda Atkins officiating. Caleb M. Bridges Caleb Matthew Bridges, infant son of Joshua and Mandy (Farrell) Bridges, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East. Surviving with his parents are his sister, AnnaMarie Bridges and his grandparents, Kimberly Farrell, Steven (Ellen Osborne) Farrell, and John and Joy Greene. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. Boniface Cemetery.

Brooks, Mary A. Fauset "Sis"  
Mary A. "Sis" Fauset Brooks, 92 A graveside service for Mary A. "Sis" Fauset Brooks, will take place Tuesday at 1pm, at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi. Pastor Barb Loft officiating. She was born Dec. 9, 1918 in Logansport, to the late Ann & Clyde Fauset. She died Feb. 1, 2011 at the age of 92. She worked at the former Ralston-Purina in Lafayette for 30 years. Her 1st marriage was to James E. Robinson in 1939. Her 2nd marriage was to Charles N. Brooks in Nov. 1964. Surviving is her daughter Jamie Robinson Wray; 4 step children: Roger Brooks, Jim Brooks, Kevin Brooks, and Norma Brooks Toth. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, in charge of arrangements.

Brooks, Mildred  
Mildred Brooks, 93 Mildred Brooks, age 93, of Lafayette, died at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 in her residence. Born on July 20, 1923 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Howard Spiehler and Ruby Walton Spiehler. She graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis. She married Robert Brooks on September 7, 1941 in Fairfax Christian Church in Indianapolis and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2003. Mildred and her late husband founded Hobart Sales & Service in Lafayette in 1952 then it became Brooks Food Equipment in Lafayette, IN. She ran the office until retiring in 2011. Mildred loved serving her customers at Brooks Food Equipment and she affectionately called many of her customers "Angel" when speaking and serving them. Mildred was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with her late husband playing golf and spending time outdoors. She loved yard work, cooking and flower gardening. Surviving is her son: Gary Brooks of Battle Ground, three sisters: Vera Lannerd of Indianapolis, Mary Jane West (husb: Bobby) of Ocala, FL and Barbara Hedges (husb: Jim) of Brownsburg and two grandchildren: Amy J. Brooks and Chris W. Brooks (wife: Melisa) both of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Howard Spehler and Alfred Spiehler. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Reverend Greg Eberhard will officiate. Burgin, Jack  
Jack Burgin, 93, Jack Burgin, 93, Frankfort, Ind., died at 12:53 a.m. July 22, 2016 at Riverview Health in Noblesville, Ind. Born March 18, 1923 in Frankfort, Ind. to Walter & Mabel (Hughes) Burgin Sr. He was formerly married to Mary Myers. He then married Betty J. Egbert on December 29, 1967 and she preceded him in death on October 5, 1993. Mr. Burgin attended Frankfort schools and was a lifelong Frankfort resident. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during WWII. Mr. Burgin worked for National Homes, retiring after 28 years. He enjoyed raccoon hunting, Bingo, fishing, and Poker. He is survived by 2 Daughters: Evelyn (Ivan) Lawson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Elizabeth (Dan) Burgin-Day of Indianapolis; 3 Sons: Jackie L. (Shirley) Burgin of Frankfort, Jerry Burgin of Billings, Montana, Johnny (Janice) Burgin of Frankfort; 1 Step-son: Bill (Marilyn) Toney of South Bend; 1 Step-daughter: Peggy Toney of Tennessee; Daughter-in-law: Sherry Burgin; 15 Grandchildren, several Step Grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Burgin, 2 sisters, Ruth Burgin and Mary Brown, 2 brothers, Jim Burgin and David Burgin and 2 step-sons. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in Boone County. Memorial donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Burroughs, Dorothy L.  
Dorothy L. Burroughs Dorothy L. (Banta) Burroughs, age 78, of Battle Ground, died at 4:04 a.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at The Springs of Lafayette. Born on August 6, 1937 in Knox, IN, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Thelma Mae (Fisher) Banta. She graduated from Knox High School and was a majorette in the high school band. Dorothy married Clayton W. "Tate" Burroughs, III on March 2, 1968 in Knox, IN and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2011. She was an Avon representative for 22 years. She had also worked at Essex Wire in Lafayette and at the former Riehle Brothers Tavern on the north side. Dorothy and her late husband were involved with the Sagamore Council of the Boy Scouts of America, where she served as a den mother. She enjoyed cross-stitching and reading. Dorothy was active with 4-H and exhibited in the open class for cross-stitch at the Tippecanoe County Fair. Surviving are her children, Gregory Claxton (wife: Carol) of Lafayette, David Burroughs (wife: Cyndi) of Brookston, and Joanna Claxton Fanning (husb: Mark) of Hermosa, SD; siblings, Carol Cecrle (husband: Bill) of Georgetown, TX, Judy Fink (husband: Larry) of Williamsport, and Ralph Banta (wife: Adair) of Plymouth; brother-in-law, James Brantley of FL; sister-in-law, Renate Banta of Knox; ten grandchildren, Brett Claxton, Heather Fischer, Andrew Claxton, Matt Claxton, Tina Orns, Paul Fanning, Kevin Fanning, Ron Weinberg, Jarrett Burroughs and Emmy Burroughs; 8 great-grandchildren, with one expected in October; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William J. "Will" Burroughs; brother, David Banta; and sister, Mary Brantley. Friends may call 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 28 at the funeral home with Celebrant Denis Horn officiating. Interment at Spring Vale Cemetery.
