Gerber, Betty Jean  
Betty Jean Gerber, 82 Betty Jean Gerber, age 82, Lafayette, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 11:47 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015, at St. Mary's Health Care Center, Lafayette. Born July 19, 1932, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Glenn and Virginia Bauer Jacot. On December 10, 1954, she was married to Rudolph H. Gerber, who preceded her in death on January 28, 1996. Betty Jean attended St. Joseph's School in Logansport and was a 1950 graduate of Logansport High School. She was retired from Fedco Discount Store in Cerritos, Calif. She enjoyed bowling. She was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, West Lafayette. Surviving are a son, Glenn (Sueann) Gerber, Yorba Linda, CA; daughter, Jeanie (Robert) Plante, West Lafayette; sister, Carol Jane Hinkle, Logansport; grandchildren, Michael Plante, Eric Plante, Jason Plante, Brandon (Amber) Gerber and Sean (Melissa) Gerber; great grandchildren, Kenadee Gerber and Kingston Gerber. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Heide and Steve Sims, Holly and Curt Maxson; great nieces and great nephews, Rick and Krysten Hinkle, Kristen Sims, Rachel Sims, Stefanie Maxson, Katelyn Maxson and Rocco Hinkle. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11: 30 a.m., on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at All Saints Catholic Church, Logansport, with Fr. Ambrose Ziegler officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. prior to Mass at the All Saints Parish Hall. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary section of Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2224 Sacramento Drive, West Lafayette 47906, or the Alzheimers Association, Suite 100, 50 East 91st Street, Indianapolis 46240. Glenn, Phyllis A.  
Phyllis A. Glenn, 68 Phyllis A. Glenn, 68, of Morocco, Indiana, passed away July 1, 2015 at 12:25 A.M. in the Green-Hill Manor, Fowler, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth Loblaw Conner. She graduated from the Donovan High School, class of 1964. On February 23, 1974 she married Donald R. Glenn. He survives. Phyllis owned and operated the Glenn Floral Shop for 22 years. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, traveling, sports especially the Chicago Bears. She was member of the Projects Unlimited, Morocco Planning Commission for 12 years and Board of Zoning Appeals. Surviving are her husband, 1 son, David M. B.Glenn (special friend, Stephanie Witwer), Camby, Indiana, 1 daughter, Erin B. Joaquin, (husband, Jonathan), Zion, Illinois, 1 sister, Roberta R. Seolley, Iroquoios, Illinois, 2 aunts, Shirley Arseneau, (husband, Conrad), Watseka, Illinois, and Catherine Martin, Donovan, Illinois, also nieces and nephew, Julie Meyer, (husband, Larry), Marlene Erys and John Scolley, all of Donovan, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Morocco, Indiana, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm (CDT), with a celebration of her life service after the visitation at 2:00 pm (CDT). Inurnment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Morocco, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Association or the charity of donors choice. Gerts Funeral Home, Brook, Indiana, in charge of arrangements.

Griffis, Waneta J.  
Waneta J. Griffis Waneta J. Toyama, 86, of West Lafayette, died at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette 3:10 PM Thursday July 2, 2015 where she had been a patient for the past week. Waneta was born in Kokomo, IN June 5, 1929, the daughter of the late Lester and Nellie Shaw Alexander and was a graduate of Rossville, (IN) High School. She married Dale Griffis in 1947, and they later divorced. Waneta then married Tosh Toyama and he preceded her in death in 2011. Waneta had resided in California from 1967 until returning to the Lafayette area in 1991. She was employed as a secretary and data processor in the aerospace software industry, and after returning to Lafayette, worked as a cashier for Meijer's. Surviving are two daughters, Connie Griffis of Lafayette, IN, Karen Griffis of West Lafayette, IN, and a son Bill Griffis (Debbie) of Lafayette, IN; a step-son, Steven Toyama of California, and two stepdaughters Susan Ackerman (Phil) of China and Linda Yee (Linton) of North Carolina. Also surviving are four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Griffis. Private family services will be held at a later date.
