LaGue, Amy R.  
Amy R. LaGue, 88 Amy R. LaGue, 88, of Brookston, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Westminster Village of West Lafayette. She was born June 20, 1928 in Benton County to the late Jacob and Edith (Juhlin) Franson and was a 1947 graduate of Pine Township Schools. Her marriage was to Marwin O. "Babe" LaGue on March 15, 1947 in Fowler, Indiana. The couple raised their family and farmed in Pine Township, Otterbein and Brookston until retiring in 1990. Mr. LaGue passed away March 19, 2005. Amy was a devoted and wonderful mother and grandmother and loved spending time with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and was known to have the best pies around. She enjoyed her flower gardens, being outdoors and traveling with her husband. Surviving are her children, Robert LaGue of Brookston, Judy Hobson (husband: Greg) of Maryville, Illinois and Bill LaGue (wife: Judy) also of Brookston and a sister, Ellen Mancuso of Springville, Tennessee. Preceding her in death with her parents and husband are two grandchildren, Aaron & Dylan LaGue and her daughter-in-law, Patti LaGue. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Private services are planned for Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Brookston IOOF Cemetery. Lehnen, Craig Alan  
Craig Alan Lehnen Craig Alan Lehnen, 41, of Lafayette, died Wednesday September 21, 2016. Craig was born in Lafayette August 25, 1975, the son of John W. and Linda K. Shoaf Lehnen and was a 1993 graduate of McCutcheon High School. He was employed at Lehnen Furniture in Lafayette in the delivery and warehouse department from 1994 until his health forced him to retire in 2003. Surviving with his parents, John and Linda Lehnen of Rossville, IN is a son, Gabriel William Lehnen of Lafayette; a brother, Marc W. Lehnen of Lafayette; two nieces, Kaylee and Taylor Lehnen of Rossville, IN; maternal grandmother Jean Shoaf of Lafayette along with several uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John E. and Nita Jean Lehnen, paternal step-grandmother, Joyce Lehnen, and maternal grandfather, William Shoaf. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 7 PM Monday Sept. 26. The funeral will be held at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home at 10:30 AM Tuesday, Rev. Marshall, Nicole  
Nicole E. Marshall Nicole E. (Rushing) Marshall, 41, of Lafayette passed away at 11:47 pm Saturday, September 17, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East. She was born August 23, 1975 in Lafayette to Gene L. Rushing and Donna L. (Peterson) Rushing both of Lafayette. Nicole married John A. Marshall on March 2, 2001 in Lafayette and he survives. She loved her grandchildren and children, her hobby was softball, playing watching and coaching. Surviving along with her mother, father and husband John are children, Britney Rushing, Amanda Marshall, Jonathan Marshall (Michelle), Wyatt Marshall and Cheyenne Marshall all of Lafayette; her sister, Robin Rushing of Hebron, KY; a brother, Adam Rushing of Lafayette along with four grandchildren, Jaxon Rushing, Vera Marshall, Elijah Ferguson and Jonathan Marshall Jr. Friends will be received from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel at 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909. McFerren, Harry P.  
Harry P. McFerren, 96 Harry P. McFerren, 96, formerly of Attica, Englewood, FL and presently residing in Burlington, NC, passed away in the Alamance Regional Medical Center, Burlington, NC on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 8:40 a.m. Harry was born in Independence, IN on September 5, 1920. He was the son of the late A.E. and Della (Beever) McFerren. He graduated from Williamsport High School and Purdue University where he excelled academically and in Big Ten baseball. He married Shirley I. Simpson on September 16, 1946. She preceded him in death on August 15, 2004. During WW II, Harry was in the Naval Air Corps and graduated from Midshipman School at Notre Dame before spending four years in the service. Most of his service time was at Los Negros in the South Pacific. After the war Harry could have gone to spring training at Vero Beach, FL with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He led the Big Ten in fielding his sophomore year and was near the top hitting his junior year. His greatest thrill in life came in the summer of his junior year when he was given the opportunity to play with John Rosser's great Lafayette Red Sox team. The four years lost to the service caused Harry to go forward with his Degree in Mechanical Engineering rather than give baseball a try. Harry retired from the Olin Corp. plant in Covington, IN. Before that, he worked at the American Locomotive plant at Schenectady, NY, the Naval Experimental Station in Philadelphia and had his own business in Independence, IN. Golf was his favorite hobby. He was the club champion once and runner-up twice at the Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood, FL. He was a member of the Attica First United Methodist Church; a life member of the Elks Lodge of Englewood, FL and a life member of the Green Hill Masonic Lodge, F. & A.M. in Indiana. Survivors included his domestic partner, Grace Shontz, Burlington, NC; his son, Dennis McFerren, three grandchildren, plus four great-granddaughters in Iowa; a granddaughter, Julie Danaus and two great-grandchildren in Indiana; a niece, Connie Jeffries, Chalmers, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beatrice and Jeneice. Gravesite services and burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica, on Friday, September 30, at 12:00 p.m. noon. with Rev. Daniel Jordan officiating. McKnight, Herbert C. "Herb"  
Herbert C. "Herb" McKnight, 87 Herbert C. "Herb" McKnight, 87, of Flora, died Thurs.-Sept. 22, 2016 at 5:20am at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. He had been a resident there for 5 weeks, and in failing health. He was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Salem, to the late Elmer & Vernie Sullivan McKnight. His marriage was to Virginia R. Disinger, in Delphi, on June 15, 1952, and she survives. They had lived for many years in the Delphi area, and moved to Flora where they lived for 19 years. A 1946 graduate of Brookston High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, stationed at a M.A.S.H. Unit, attaining the rank of 1st Sargent. He worked for the former Clawson Chevrolet in Delphi, then Hubbard Chevrolet in Monticello, he and his wife owned and operated a DX Gas Station in Monticello, then went to work as part's manager at DeFouw Chevrolet in Lafayette for 25 years, retiring from there. He was a member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren, rural Flora. He was a member of the Delphi American Legion Post #75. He enjoyed antique shopping, especially collectibles, glass, and old license plates. He enjoyed sketch art, mainly pencil sketches. He dearly loved his family, and the time they spent together. Surviving: wife-Virginia R. McKnight of Flora; daughter-Julie A. McKnight of Terre Haute; son-Robert "Bob" & Marilyn McKnight of Flora; sister-Clarice "Liz" Yerk of Chalmers; grandchildren: Krista Foreman; Anthony "Tony" & Hunter Laing; great grandson: Jericho Bergdorff. Preceded in death by a brother in law Donald. Services: Friends may call Saturday from 11am until his funeral service at 2pm, at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Jeff Tomson officiating, burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg, with Carroll County Honor Guard Military Rites. Miller, Thomas E.  
Thomas E. Miller 66 Thomas Edward Miller passed away at 11:30pm September 16, 2016 at IU Hospital in Lafayette. He was born November 7, 1949 in Seymour, Indiana to the late Edward D. Miller and Maxine Spurgeon. In 1968, Tom graduated from Wendell L.Wilkie High School in Elwood, Indiana. He then attended Purdue University. During those years, he took great pride in performing with the Panther Band in Elwood and the Boilermaker Band at Purdue. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Leonard, on June 10, 1972 in Elwood, Indiana. Tom began his successful career in manufacturing at Chrysler Transmission in Kokomo, Indiana. In 1988, Tom moved his family from Elwood to Lafayette and began his career at SIA on April 10, 1989. During his 25 years at SIA he was a team leader, group leader, and product manager in multiple departments-although solving problems in Stamping gave him the most pride. He was very dedicated to the success of SIA and mentored many rising leaders. He earned his M.S. in Industrial Management from Purdue in 1998 while working full time. Tom retired January 5, 2015. Tom was a true Boilermaker fan following the football and basketball programs for years. He loved playing cards and telling stories with family and friends. Among Tom's living family members are his wife Linda and his daughters Jenny Miller and Rachel Gray (husband Matt). He also leaves behind his brothers Bob Miller (wife Margie) of Elwood, and Steve Miller (wife Jane) of St Cloud, FL, and his brother -in- law Gene Smith (wife Sally) of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his sister-in- law Sandra Houppert; sister Barbara Smith; and brothers Jack Miller (wife Chris) and Ron Miller (wife Esther). Tom will also be remembered by nieces and nephews whom he loved like children and grandchildren. The visitation will be held on 5-8pm Thursday, September 22 at Soller-Baker funeral on 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909. The funeral will be 11:00 am held at the same location on Friday, September 23, 2016. Nice, Keith Eugene  
Keith Eugene Nice, 89 Keith Eugene Nice, 89, of Largo Florida passed away at 5:45 am on September 19, 2016. He was born January 25, 1927 at home in Lafayette, IN to the late Verl Leon and Ruby Elizabeth (Ryder) Nice. He attended school in Battle Ground and Klondike. Keith married Phyllis Mull in November 1947, she passed away July 3, 2006. His second marriage was to Lorraine Moore on February 14, 1976, she preceded him in death on July 18, 2006. Keith enjoyed all Purdue sports and he also enjoyed playing golf. He attended Prince of Peace Lutheran church in Largo Florida where he played the saxophone. Keith served in World War II in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He is survived by a son Stanley Nice of Lafayette, IN and a sister Marjorie Qualls of Brookston, IN; 3 step-sons, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Gordon Verl (Beryl) Nice. Services were held in Clearwater Florida at the Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home on September 22, 2016.
