Igney, Carolyn Ruth  
Carolyn Ruth Igney Carolyn Ruth Igney, 95, formerly of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Zionsville Meadows. She was born May 22, 1919, in Rossville, the daughter of Orville E. and Mabel G. Peters Steward. On December 11, 1940, she married Robert L. Igney; he preceded her in death on June 1, 1983. Ruth graduated from Rossville High School in 1937. Directly from high school, she worked at Home Hospital. After marriage, she was a homemaker and taught private piano lessons. Ruth was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort, where she played the piano and played in the hand bell choir. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and Circle of Deborah. Ruth was an active volunteer at Wesley Manor for fifteen years and at the Historical Society of Clinton County. Surviving Ruth are her sons, Gary Michael "Mike" (Sue) Igney of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robert Alan (Rosemary) Igney of Indianapolis; one sister-in-law, Kate Steward of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Duane E. Steward. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Justin Fisher will officiate. Lykoudis, Maria Zoe  
Maria Zoe Lykoudis 1927-2014 Maria Zoe Lykoudis passed away November 23rd 2014 in Athens Greece. She leaves behind a son Michael, his wife Issa, and two grandchildren, Alexander and Nicholas. A resident of West Lafayette from 1953 to 1985 she had many friends and ties to the community. Maria Lykoudis was born on November 18th 1927 in Athens. After studying at the National University of Greece she went on to Bryn Mawr College to pursue graduate studies in Classical Archeology and then on to Radcliff College for further studies. While a student, she spent many summers working at the American School of Classical Studies, the Athenian Agora and Acropolis. After graduate school, she continued to share her knowledge and wonder of the ancient and modern world with her colleagues, family and friends for over 7 decades. The lessons of her optimistic and indefatigable spirit, despite great challenges to her health and quality of life, remain gifts to all who knew and loved her.

Maddox, Joyce E.  
Joyce E. Maddox, 53 Joyce E. Maddox, 53, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Born November 24, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Carol Halsey. Joyce was a graduate of Purdue University. She spent the last several years of her life as a loving care-giver to her mother before Carol's passing, and to her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of Victory Christian Church in Lafayette, and a former member of Brown Street United Methodist Church, Lafayette. Known for her extraordinary creativity and her eclectic sense of style, Joyce had a great sense of humor. She could put a smile on anyone's face with a silly story, sound effect, joke, or just a mischievous grin. She definitely marched to the beat of her own drum, as anyone who knew her will attest! She had a generous heart, and was particularly devoted to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, making her own soaps and oils, as well as doing other handicrafts. She participated for a number of years as an artisan, demonstrating and displaying her wares, at the Feast of the Hunters' Moon and other historical re-enactment festivals. Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Emma Grady (husband: William David) of Lafayette, and Erika Maddox of Flora; and her three grandchildren, Carol, Alex and Kaila, as well as two sisters, Cynthia Nees of Indianapolis, and Karen Itin (husband: Bruno) of West Lafayette; four nieces and one nephew; two great-nephews, and one great-niece. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at Victory Christian Church at 10 North Earl Avenue in Lafayette on Saturday, December 27, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Sandy Marchel presiding. Memorial donations may be made in Joyce's name to Victory Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society in memory of Joyce's mother, Carol Halsey. Martin, Terry Dean  
Terry D. Martin Sr. Terry Dean Martin Sr., 70, of Mulberry and formerly of Otterbein, passed away unexpectedly December 14, 2014, at Riverview, Florida, where he wintered. He was born January 11, 1944, in Tippecanoe County, to the late Kenneth Martin and Clara (Mounts) Martin Kaylor. He was raised south of Greenhill and was a 1961 graduate of Otterbein High School. On July 23, 1961, he married Janet Sue Byrd. They later divorced. She passed away March 1, 2004. He was a diesel mechanic and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the original Otterbein Little League board of directors and helped to create what became a thriving program for the youth of the Otterbein area. He was a former member of the Otterbein Volunteer Fire Department and the Otterbein Volunteer Police Auxiliary. He is survived by 3 sons: Terry (Sheila) Martin Jr. of Pueblo West, Colorado, Jamie (Aimee) Martin of Zionsville, Craig (Stephanie) Martin of Otterbein; 1 daughter Cindy Martin-Wiggs (Jason Arnold) of Otterbein; 6 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters, and 4 great-grandsons, siblings Barbara Brewer (Brian), West Lafayette IN, Kenneth Martin(Dawn) Charlotte, NC, David Martin(Kelly), Whitestown, IN, Jody Pierson (Tim), Lafayette, IN, Pauline Steel, Arlington TX; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are a special Aunt and Uncle, Daniel "Carroll" and Audrey Martin of Lafayette, who were like his parents, and dear friends Edna Mae Brummett, George and Marlene Brummett, and Ashley and Lisa Stevenson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lawrence W. "Larry" Martin. Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2014, from 5pm-8pm at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 East Oxford Street, in Otterbein. Services will be 10 am Tuesday, at the church, with Rev. John Randall officiating. Interment will take place at Pond Grove Cemetery near Otterbein. Memorials to the Otterbein Recreation Association, P.O. Box 412, Otterbein, Indiana 47970. Maxfield Sr., Joseph Wade "Joe"  
Joseph "Joe" Wade Maxfield Sr., 59 Joseph "Joe" Wade Maxfield Sr., 59, passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 in Little Rock, Ark. Joe was born Sept. 5, 1955 in Salem, Ky. to the late Louis Vernon and Emma Alberta Maxfield. He attended Crittenden Co. High school in Marion, Ky. and served in the United States Army. Joe worked for the aluminum industry for nearly 30 years in company's based in East Chicago, Ind., Wabash, Ind., and Prescott, Kansas. He possessed a strong penchant for storytelling, loved hunting, and enjoyed -- more than anything else -- the value of time spent with his family. Joe was known to those who loved him and whom interacted with him as a listener, thinker and a caring, focused individual that often offered strong and sound advice to those in need. He leaves behind a legacy of shaping his children into strong self-sustaining adults to whom he is regarded as nothing short of a hero. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Karen Joyce Maxfield; daughter, Candace (Colt) Umphenour of Prescott, Kansas; sons, Joseph W. Maxfield Jr. of Prescott; Thomas J. Maxfield of Lafayette, Ind.; Weston L. Maxfield of Lafayette; grandchildren, Brianna Clayton of Valparaiso, Ind.; Reagan O. Maxfield of Wheatfield, Ind.; Canyon and Cooper Umphenour of Prescott, Kansas, and Luke L. Maxfield of Prescott, Kansas; brother James N. Maxfield of Carrsville, Ky.; sisters, Myra Watson of Marion Ky., Verna Doris Rushing of Marion, Ky.; and Roberta Joyce Trautvetter of Evansville, Ind. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas V. Maxfield, Louis V. Maxfield, Arthur Dennis Maxfield; and sister Pamela "Pammy" K. Maxfield. Visitation will be from 10:30-12:30 a.m., Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Myers Funeral Home, 713 E. Bellville St., Marion, Ky. and graveside services following at 1:00 p.m. at Owens Cemetery, Highway 855, near Frances, Ky.

McKoon, John C.  
John C. McKoon, 64 John C. McKoon, 64, of Rossville, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born August 7, 1950, in Kokomo, the son of Cecil and Dorthia LaMons McKoon; his mother survives in Kokomo. On July 27, 1985, he married Cheri Kay Clevenger; she survives. John graduated from Western High School in 1969. He worked as a production manager for Griffith Rubber Mills from 1984 until his retirement on October 15, 2014. Quick witted, John was a man who would "give the shirt off his back" and was known for his generosity. He enjoyed playing cards, golf, and chess. John attended Rossville United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife and mother, John is survived by his sons, Chris (Kelly) McKoon of Kokomo, and Jack McKoon of Rossville; daughters, Jennifer (Sean) Nofzinger of Auburn, and Janet Griggs of Kokomo; one sister, Barbara Schrader of Wisconsin; one brother, Stephen McKoon of Ohio; mother-in-law, Becky Dugan Clevenger of Cookeville, TN; brother-in-law, Chris Clevenger of Cookeville, TN; and nine grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his father, one grandson, his sister, Patricia; and his father-in-law, John Clevenger. Visitation for John will be held at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Brian White will officiate. Meacham, William Keith "Bill"  
William "Bill" Keith Meacham, 77 William "Bill" Keith Meacham, 77, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 in Lafayette. Bill was born December 16, 1937 In Lafayette to the late Raymond and Gladys Ade Meacham. He graduated from Montmorenci High School and immediately joined the Air Force, serving proudly for four years. Bill worked for the US Postal Service his entire career and retired as Postmaster in Monon, Indiana. He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Lafayette, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Reynolds, Knight of Columbus #456, American Legion Post 11, and a former member of the Lions Club in Monon. During his lifetime, Bill enjoyed camping, antiquing and reading. After his retirement, Bill would spend his winters in Florida with his wife enjoying the warm weather and sunshine. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Virginia Mackey Meacham; daughter, Kimerly (Patrick) Mullen of Battle Ground; grandchildren, Nicole (Adron) Scott of Fishers, IN, Cassandra (Shane) Bogaards of Fishers, IN and Sean Keith Mullen of Boulder, CO; great-grandchildren, Kinsey and Logan Bogaards, Dron and Lincoln Scott; brother, James (Millie) Meacham of Lafayette; and sister, Linda Meacham Bennett of West Lafayette, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith Meacham; step-mother, Elizabeth Dawson Meacham; brother, Robert Lee Meacham, and great-grandson, Parker William Bogaards. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Monday, December 22, 2014 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday, 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1207 Columbia Street in Lafayette. Interment will take place at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Mecklenburg, Charles L. "Charlie"  
Charles L. "Charlie" Mecklenburg Charles L. "Charlie" Mecklenburg, 87, of Lafayette, died at Creasy Springs Healthcare 8:10 AM Friday December 19, 2014 where he had been a patient since June. Charles was born in Lafayette, IN. October 24, 1927, the son of the late Charles L. and Anna Hehl Mecklenburg. He attended St. Boniface School and was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. Charles married Kathryn J. Gillis in Lafayette June 7, 1952, and she preceded him in death October 4, 2011. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lafayette Aerie 347, which he joined on November 6, 1945 at the age of eighteen years old. During his 69 years as a member, he was a bartender for several years; bar manager, Aerie Trustee for over 20 years; a member of the bingo team for 25 years, and served on several committees, as well as assisting with the Eagles Golf League. Charlie was a very important part of Lafayette Aerie 347's history. He could tell stories about what went on around the club years ago. When you think about it, the Aerie has been in existence for 111 years, and Charlie was a big part of those years, 69 of them. What a legacy to leave for the members to follow. Charlie retired as a supervisor for Haywood Publishing in the Binding Department, retiring in 1990 after 45 years, and had served in the Indiana National Guard. Surviving is a daughter, Mary Anna Grove (husband Chuck) of Lafayette; two sons, Thomas R. Mecklenburg (wife Debbie) and David L. Mecklenburg (wife Tammy) all of Lafayette; 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Kelly, Kim, Beth, Derek, Nikki, Tommy, Dakota, Gizell, Torrin, Jessica, Megan and Erin, along with nine great-grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited at 4:45 PM Monday, followed by visitation from 5 until 7:30 PM, with Lafayette Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles service at 7:30 PM at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St, Lafayette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating. The interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
