Alice M. Bridgeman

Alice M. Bridgeman, 93, Goodland, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center, Brook. She was born on April 8, 1919, in Donovan, Ill., to Asa M. and Effie A. (Morrison) Lee.

She graduated from Donovan High School in 1937 and married William H. Bridgeman on Oct. 12, 1939, in Kentland. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1982, Lafayette.

She worked as a cook and waitress in the former Gray Hound Bus Station in Kentland. She also worked as a cashier in a drugstore in Hammond. She was a member of the Christian Church in Delphi and enjoyed playing the organ and reading.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Honn, Goodland, Gloria (James) Lee, Cartersville, Ga. and 1 son, Donald Bridgeman of Hammond. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Leota Warren; and 1 granddaughter, Karen Burton.

Visitation will be held at the Gerts Funeral Home, Goodland, on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon (CST). Services will be held at Gerts Funeral Home, Goodland, on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at noon (CST). Rev. Melvin Lane officiating and internment will follow on Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery, Morocco.
