Anita M. Hass, 56
Anita M. (Lewis) Hass, 56, of Lafayette passed away on March 12, 2013, at 2:05 p.m. at her residence. Anita was born on January 29, 1957, in Lafayette to James R. Lewis and the late Elizabeth "Betty" Smith Lewis. She was educated at Lafayette Jefferson High School and St. Mary's Academy in South Bend. Anita was formerly married to Fred Hass, and they were married in May of 1979 in Lafayette, and he resides in Cornelius, Ore. Anita was a freelance hairdresser, and also worked at the former, My Sisters & Me Shop, on Main St. in Lafayette. She enjoyed beading, making jewelry, arts and crafts, playing on her computer, photography, camping and being in the sun.
Surviving with her father, James "Jim" Lewis of Lafayette, are three children, Jessica Hass (Rand) of Forest Grove, Ore., Sara Hass (husband: Craig Carrington) of Portland, Ore., and Samuel Hass of Medford, Ore. Also surviving are four sisters, Patricia "Patty" Petty of Lafayette, Bonnie (Ralph) Scrimager of Mattoon, Ill., Virginia "Ginny" (William) Meacham of Lafayette, and Jacqueline Brown of Lafayette; and four grandchildren, Justine, Justin, Jacquelen, and Alexandre, one great-grandchild, Bradley; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Lewis.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. with visitation one half hour prior at Simplicity Funeral Care with Chaplain Barbara Kerkhoff officiating.
