Ardis (Weber) Sanders, 91, of Fowler, IN, died at 1:06 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in her home surrounded by her girls and pets that loved her. She was born on September 19, 1922 in Wolcott, IN to the late Mark Allen and Grace (Brucker) Weber.
Her marriage was to C. Clinton Sanders, Jr. on June 24, 1940 in Fowler and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2009.
Ardis earned her bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from Indiana University
She worked for the Benton Review in Fowler and wrote children's workbooks for the school system in Benton County. She was the director of Foreign Education at Indiana and Purdue Universities in the Foreign Exchange Program. She was a world traveler, having visited 72 different countries, and was an avid animal lover. She had 5 Pekingese dogs, Becky, Kelly, Kelty, Kerry, and Kandy, who she considered her children.
Surviving are a niece, Meredith Zavatsky (husband, John) of Porter, TX; a nephew-in-law, Edward Beatty of Porter, TX; a great-niece Lorin; three great-nephews, Michael, Sean and Brian; and a sister-in-law, Mary Anne Loughry of Fowler. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Weber, and one niece, Elaine Beatty.
