D. Deloris Kyees

D. Deloris (Ottinger) Kyees, 80, of Lafayette, passed away at 3:58 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Seton Hospital. Born January 2, 1933 in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lena (Ramsey) Ottinger. Her marriage was on July 9, 1993 in Lafayette to Wayne R. Kyees and he survives. Previously, Deloris was married to the father of her children, Charles Flood, and he also survives and lives in Lafayette. For 19 years, Deloris worked in the laundry department at Wiley Hall at Purdue University, retiring in 1998. Previously, she had worked in the laundry department at the former Americana Nursing Home, now known as St. Mary Healthcare Center. Deloris had attended the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed listening to country music, working word search puzzles, and spending time with her family. Deloris was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Purdue University men's basketball.

In addition to her husband, Wayne, Deloris is survived by a daughter, Patty Michael (husband, John), 2 sons, Mark Flood (wife, Linda), and Kenny Flood (wife, Heidi), all of Lafayette, a sister, Betty Sedwick (husband, Larry) of Burlington, IN, and a brother, Bob Ottinger (wife, Ann) of Frankfort. She also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Deloris was preceded in death by an infant son, three sisters, and one granddaughter.

Visitation 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Simplicity Funeral Care with the service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Simplicity Chapel with Pastor Gary Britton officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
