David L. Vyse, 70
David L. Vyse, 70, Chalmers, died as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident on Monday, January 14, 2013, in White County. Born July 8, 1942, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Everett C. and Helen L. (Smith) Vyse. He was a 1961 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School.
After 15 years, David married Teresa Lancaster on January 7, 2007, in Las Vegas, and she survives. David and Teresa owned and operated a small family restaurant and bar called the Rio Kountry Klub, in Rio, Wisconsin, from 1992 to 1997. He worked for Kirby Risk for 5 years and Lafayette Pharmaceuticals for 5 years. He loved playing the guitar and recorded a record with The Train in 1965. He played in several states including Texas, Arizona, Florida, Wisconsin, and Indiana; and in local clubs on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and every Thursday at the Eagles. David had a passion for music and the talent to match. If it could be plugged into an amplifier and it had strings on it, he could play it. He was the Wisconsin State Strings Museum as 1994 Guitar Player of the Year and was inducted into their Hall of Fame. He loved hummingbirds and his dog Jackson.
Surviving with his wife are his children, Jill Vyse of Lafayette, Josh Vyse of Columbus, Wis., Jessica Vyse of Sun Prairie, Wis., Stephen Vyse (wife, Katie) of Columbus, Wis., and Mathew Vyse of Dodgeville, Wis.; two brothers, Carl Vyse of Lafayette and Jim Vyse of Melbourne, Fla.; and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Vyse.
