Dean D. Lowry, 68

Dean D. Lowry, 68, Francesville, passed away at 3:20 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012, at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Dean was born on December 20, 1944 in Francesville, to Donald H. and Alice Catherine Bayless Lowry.

Dean married Carol E. Johns on July 17, 1966 in Monon. Carol survives.

He was a member of the Francesville First Christian Church where he has served as chairman of the church Elders, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, small group member and the missions committee. Dean was also a member of the West Central School Board since 1986. He had a true interest in the well being of the students. Dean was a board member of the Purdue Christian Campus House. He was the former president of the Carroll-White REMC Board where he had served for 25 years. Dean was a former member of the Pulaski County 4-H Board and the Pulaski County Pork Producers. Dean was a lifetime farmer and avid golfer. He enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, riding his motorcycle and mowing the roadsides.

Dean especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his Wife, Carol E. Johns Lowry of Francesville. One Daughter, Amanda (Mark) Douglas of Rossville and two Sons, Scott (Christin) Lowry of Monticello, and Jeff (Kasey) Lowry of Francesville. 8 Grandchildren, Gabrielle, David, Shea, Samantha, Madison, Kaitlynn, Ashlynn and Sarabeth. Two Brothers, Richard (Martha) Lowry of Francesville, and Paul (Diana) Lowry of Thorntown. Two Sisters, Donna (Richard) Wen of New Brighton, Minn., and Mary (Eldon) Everidge of Rockville.

Preceded in death by his Parents, Donald H. and Alice Catherine Bayless Lowry; two brothers, Kenneth and James Lowry; three infant sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at Francesville First Christian Church, Francesville, Monday, December 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. (EST); the officiating clergy: Pastor James Ketchen. Burial will take place at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville. Military Graveside Services will be conducted. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. (EST) Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Francesville First Christian Church Building Fund or West Central Schools Educational Foundation, INC.
