Dorothy E. Beard Languell, 93

Dorothy E. Beard Languell, 93, of Frankfort died December 23, 2012, at Wesley Manor Health Care Center.

Born January 21, 1919, in Greenville, Tenn. to the late Edgar Nathaniel and Molly (Strong) Pickering.

She married Marvin Frederick Beard in 1940 and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1979. She then married Chester Languell on July 13, 1985, and he preceded her death on December 25, 1999.

Mrs. Languell grew up in Greenville, Tenn. and attended Greenville Schools there. She moved to Frankfort at the age of 21. She worked as a cook for Frankfort High Schools for 5 years, after previously working at the Kokomo Garment Factory, and Jules Simon in Frankfort. Mrs. Languell was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church and formerly a member of Beard O.E.S. and Beard Friendship Club. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Larry F. (Karen) Beard, of Rossville and Bobby Gene (Fran) Beard, of Frankfort; one step-son, Jerry (Elizabeth) Languell, of Dallas; two sisters-in-law, Eva Pickering, of Kokomo and Mildred Pickering, of Tenn.; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two special nieces, Nancy Kehrer and Shirley Abbott also survive.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Beard; two sisters, Nova Crum and Maxine Smith; four brothers, Cecil Pickering, Kyle Pickering, Buford Pickering and Freeman Pickering; a sister-in-law, Betty Pickering; brother-in-law, Johnny Bill Smith; and step son, Jim Languell.

Services will be 12 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Cancer Fund.
