E. Lucille Gray
E. Lucille Gray, 93, of Brookston, died at 2:35 pm, January 2, 2014 at St. Mary's Healthcare of Lafayette.
She was born on September 10, 1920 in West Lafayette to Charles Warney and Phoebe May (Mitchelle) Eldridge. She attended school in Brookston.
Her marriage of 71 years was to Irvin Laymon Gray on April 3, 1942 in Lafayette. He survives.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW
and the American Legion Auxiliary, and had worked Jessup's Box Factory and Warren Paper Products.
Lucille enjoyed sewing, dancing, country music, and playing solitaire.
Surviving with her husband are her two children; Leonard Gray (wife: Vickie) of Attica, and Rose Wolfe of Lafayette; a brother, Charles Eldridge of Indianapolis, a sister, Argolla Seward of Brookston, and a sister-in-law, Lorna Eldridge of Brookston.
She is also survived by six grandsons; Wess Logan (wife: Debbie) of Lafayette, Jeff Logan of Beach Park, IL, Scott Logan (wife: Michelle) of Jacksonville, FL, Shane Gray of Attica, Craig Gray of Lafayette, and Brent Gray of Adolphus, KY; three step-grandchildren; Josh McKinzie (wife: Shondra) of Oxford, Thome Estes (husband: Scott) of Mulberry, and Todd McKinzie of Mulberry; 19 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Pauline Cuzzort, and a dear neighbor, Nikki Anderson.
Preceding her in death with her parents are two brothers, Jim Eldridge and Bill Roberts, and two sisters, Esther Simmons and Ruby Roberts, and 1 great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Rev. Dr. Leland D. McReynolds officiating. Interment to follow in Brookston Cemetery.
