Harold E. Gooden, 63
Harold E. Gooden, 63, of West Point, formerly of Battleground, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Dekalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn, Indiana.
He was born January 16, 1950 in West Point, Indiana to the late John and Martha (Carter) Gooden and was a graduate of Attica High School and Indiana Business College.
His marriage was to Jacqueline Anderson on July 2, 1977 in West Lafayette at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. The couple lived in Battle Ground for 32 years before moving to Chalmers 8 years ago.
Mr. Gooden worked as an Insurance Agent. Prior to that worked for Purdue University
for 20 years before becoming the owner of Snacks Unlimited for 13 years.
He was a member of the Monticello Christian Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Harold was an avid Indianapolis Colts and Purdue fan. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Jeremy Gooden (wife: Samantha) of West Lafayette, Phillip Gooden (wife: Chrystal) of West Lafayette and Joshua Gooden of Ossian, IN and one brother, Donald Gooden (wife: Julie) of Noblesville. Harold loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Vanessa, Kerrigan and Meredith.
Preceding him in death with his parents are three brothers, Lowell, James and John Gooden and a sister, Harriett Palmer.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 in Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Rev. Chris Dodson to officiate. Interment to follow in Riverview IOOF Cemetery, Monticello.
