Harry G. Husa

Harry G. Husa, 71, of West Lafayette, died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home. Born March 29, 1941 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Sophie Rosenberger Husa of Lafayette and the late Joseph S. Husa, Jr. Harry was formerly married to Phyllis Rose Walsh and she makes her home in Lafayette. Harry was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Labrador from 1958 to 1963. For over twenty years, Harry worked as an installer for Illinois Bell in Chicago before retiring. Since making his home in Lafayette, Harry was an annual participant in the Senior Games where he played table top tennis and was a Torch Captain. Harry was also a member and very active with the American Legion Post #11 in Lafayette where he served as a member of the Funeral Honors Squad and volunteered with the fish fry dinners at the Post. Harry enjoyed the time he spent with friends and especially the time with his family and grandchildren.

Surviving with his mother and former wife are his two children, Kathy (husband, Jeff) Good of Lafayette and Chris J. (wife, Kimberly) Husa of Frankfort, IL, and one brother, James (wife, Mary) Husa of Frankfort, IL. Harry is also survived by seven grandchildren, Bret, Joey, Ashlee, Houston, Michael, Christopher, and Sarah, three step-grandchildren, Jessica, Blake, and Connor, one niece, Theresa, and one nephew, Jay. Harry also leaves behind his faithful dog, Buddy.

Visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday with Military Honors by American Legion Post #11 at 7:00 p.m. Monday in Hippensteel Funeral Home.
