Helen J. Bertolet, 89

Helen J. Bertolet, 89, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus, West Lafayette.

Born in Lehighton, PA she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Estella A. (Frable) Johnson. Before retiring in 1988, she worked as a payroll clerk at Alpo Pet Foods in Allentown, PA for 13 years, and held a similar position at the F. Brown Shoe Company for many years prior to that. She was a former member at St. James U.C.C., Allentown for 63 years, where she was a Sunday school teacher and served as a deacon and an elder, and sang in the choir. Before moving to Indiana, she was a member of the former Faith U.C.C., Allentown.

Her last four years in Pennsylvania, from 2007-2011, were spent at Fellowship Community, Whitehall, PA.

She is survived by her son, Rod Bertolet and daughter-in-law, Gretchen Mehring Bertolet of West Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy J. Wasem.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown, PA. Calling will begin at 9:30 a.m. www.trexlerfuneralhome.com.
