Jackie L. Phillips, 53
Jackie Lee Phillips, 53, of Lafayette, died at 1:33 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital. He was born April 15, 1959, in Lafayette, the son of Jackie E. and Opal (Loy) Phillips of Lafayette. Jackie attended St. James Lutheran School through the 8th grade and then attended Lafayette Jefferson High School.
Jackie was formerly married to Sharon Crabtree of Lafayette. For most of his life, he was a maintenance handyman throughout the Greater Lafayette Community. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, and woodworking.
Surviving with his father and mother are four sons; Joshua Phillips and his wife Valentina of Lafayette, Alvis Phillips of Lafayette, and Zachary and Elijah Phillips both at home; two brothers, Kenny Phillips and his wife Tina of West Lafayette and John Phillips and his wife Jamie of New Ross; one sister, Wendy Stigers and her husband Ken of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Damon Phillips and Haley Emrich; his former mother-in-law, Liz Crabtree of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.
Jackie loved God and he was always prepared to be with his sister Brenda, who passed away in 1999.
