James Bradshaw, 89

James Nathan Bradshaw, 89, formerly of Lafayette, passed away Friday, September 28th, 2012, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JW and Tommie Bradshaw and his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis Jean Cassaday.

After proudly serving as a medic in the Army Air Corp during WWII, he married, graduated from Purdue University, and worked as a mechanical engineer at ALCOA. He was an avid golfer, loved Purdue athletics and was a faithful follower of the Cubs. Papa Jim, as he loved to be called, was loved by many for his quick wit and infectious smile.

He is survived by daughters, Judy (Gary) Colip, of Noblesville, Peggy (Steve) Whalen, of Springfield, Ohio; a son, David (Elaine) Bradshaw, of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Jon, Lindsay, Trevor, Stephanie and Tara; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Madison and Carter.

The family will gather for a celebration of his life at 3 p.m., October 22, 2012, at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. Condolences may be offered at www.feeneyhornakkeystone.com.
